Buying a chess set in London by
Marco
I'm going to be in London for a few hours next week (I live in a
small town in the North) and would like to buy a good wooden chess
set there. Which places would you recommend? Preferrably not too
far from the city centre.
Thanks,
Marco

Have any of you read this book? The original title is Schachnovelle,
or chess novella. If so, which "chess goofs" did you notice in it?

Improve Blindfold Chess by
Matthew
I play a little "blindfold chess" (without sight of the board) and would
like to improve my play.
I have noticed that I have two problems.
After about twenty moves, I can still remember where the pieces are, one at
a time. However, I cannot see the whole board in my head. What I mean is,
I have trouble seeing the pieces relationships to each other. I could set
up the current position on a...

Sherzer Update by
Howard Goldowsky
Doing an internet search, I found the following link:
http://www.al.com/news/mobileregister/index.ssf?/base/news/10625810186091.xml
Evidently, Sherzer's case begins Thursday (9-18).
Perhaps they'll be a few articles published about the case in the
local Alabama papers. I still have not found any information telling
if the trial will be made public, and if reporters will be allowed in.
There was...

Most active forums? by
Liberty
Every hobby or interest seems to have one spot on the net that is generally
more active than others. Is there such a spot for Chess forums? I've found a
lot of forums but none seem to have a lot of activity. Is rec.games.chess*
the "home" for chess discussion on the net?
