Religions are for suckers. Better to believe in the Easter Bunny really.
Eventually, a belief in the Easter Bunny, who always has been peaceful, might

MR. NOMORECHESS

A word for Nick Bourbaki: Nomorechess is Greg Kennedy.
The "style," if that is quite the word, is inimitable.
Right down to the grammatical and spelling mistakes.
Years ago Mr. Kennedy used to talk about finding a spellchecker that would

pawn promotion by
marc margolies
for those interested in 'pawn promotion,' i would like to report that i
rec'v'd my purchase of the new renko tactical cd from chessbase called
'deadly threats.'
it contains two databases involving pawn promotion examples ( among other
themes, too).
'pawn promotion' database has about 145 examples. 'pawn promotion advanced'
has 45 more.
some of these are old pearls from troitsky but there are...

Sherzer Derby: Best Team names at the US Amateur Teams by
Isidor Gunsberg
It'll be interesting to see what kind of team names, playing on the
Sherzer case and his noteriety, will be coined at the 2004 Amateur
Team Championships. One suspects that he will be a font of inspiration
for more than a few teams. Probably, the Amateur Teams will be one
event that he opts to skip.

Handheld computer by
Timothy R. Bonine, M.D.
Looking for a decent handheld chess computer. I'm leaning toward the
Saitek/Mephisto Advanced Travel Chess Computer. The Saitek Cosmos looks
nice, but it's a little bigger than I want. Is there another good one I
should check out that is under $100.00?
Thanks,
Tim

Sicilian Books by
DDEckerslyke
Started playing again a couple of years ago on the internet and
recently joined a good OTB club. I'm now at the level where I'm not
hanging pieces and I can see some short combinations etc. (My ICC
blitz is an astronomical 1600.) Anyway, I used to play the French, my
rationale was that after e6 White is on my ground, the problem is that
I reckon I might be better off playing open games so I'd...

How to use Fritz to learn from a strong players games? by
Kenneth
Hello,
I've been told that it is good to study games by players slightly
stronger than me. I have been able to download games from such
players. But how do I use Fritz to analyze them?
I know I can load the games into the Fritz database. But I was told
that I can create an opening index from it, to learn their openings
and how they deal with it -- this I dont know how?
