Susan Polgar by
Paul Truong
Dear Nick:
That is a very good question. I do not know how he knows. But if he
is who I think he is, then he would definitely know her quite a bit.
But I am not going to speculate. In addition, even if I wanted to, I
cannot do it because it may end up being used against her in her
divorce trial.
Another possible explanation is Susan has done countless Q&A sessions

User Interfaces for ICC by
Casey
What are the pros & cons of the user interfaces for ICC? Any popular
ones? I've tried BlitzIn2 & Icarus so far...they have some nice bells
and whistles. Are these the best interfaces, or is there better stuff
out there in cyberspace?

Knight and Bishop Mate? by
Doug Wedel
Are there any "rules" for that nasty little
mating dance of king, knight and bishop
against the lone king? Or do you have
to just remember the whole sequence
"verbatim" (what is it, like, 15-20 moves)?

OT: Core Values by
Jerome Bibuld
Dear Mr. Bourbaki,
Heil Dubya!
I value your personal respect greatly -- because ALMOST invariably we are in
agreement concerning fundamental human values -- and I CERTAINLY do not wish a
public argument with you. What I am about to say, therefore, should be viewed
as explanation, NOT as confrontation.
I responded to "Michael Adams" merely to point out that (s)he/it could not

Much cry and little wool
We are witness of some events on the chess top which were unexpected only
for credulous. Match Ponomariov - Kasparov which was procrastinated for a
long time has been cancelled. That was natural effect of accordance of
interest. Ponomariov is a very strong grandmaster. He has enormous chess
talent which he has shown from his early years. But he is not...

why do GMs charge so much by
Eric Hicks
$60 an hour sound ridiculous for a GM.
Ridiculously low.
It shows the sad state of American Chess if our top players are only
getting $60 an hour.
Imagine a top tennis player only getting $60 an hour for private
lessons, a top piano player...I bet top scrabble players make more than
top chess players giving scrabble lessons.

Actually, I would be willing to play a match with Mig for a modest

I am fairly confident that I could beat...

Separate Tournaments for Women by
RudyFr
Isn't separate tournaments for women sexism at its height? Aren't women's
brains equal to men's on the chessboard? If the gals' smarts are superior or
inferior then I see the reason for separate gender tournaments.
