Software for "watching" entire PGN databases? by Tim
Hi All; Is anyone aware of any software that will allow you to point it at a large PGN, sit back, and just watch it play through all the moves of all the games? Of course currently I just use Fritz7 and click click click click.... But I'd really like to forgoe the constant clicking around and just sit back, relax, and watch.

Exhibit: Art of Chess at Somerset House in London, June 25 to Sept 28 by John Rowland
"raylopez99" wrote in message ... Bet they have M. Duchamp as well. The exhibition costs IIRC GBP7 to get in, and only takes half an hour to walk around, so I gave it a skip. GBP7 for half an hour of static entertainment is not good value for money. --

Who is the biggest jerk GM by David Ames
The following from The Boston Globe, August 11, 2003, page C8, by Harold Dondis and Patrick Wolff: "Gary Kasparov has been noted for his bad moods, and often his bad manners, especially with opponents. Anatoly Karpov, when asked whether Kasparov greets him, said Kasparov doesn't say hello to anyone." David Ames

Who is the biggest jerk GM by crotalus@networksplus.net
How does GM Rohde's behavior even begin to compare with Kasparov who has single-handedly done as much if not more than Campomanes or the current dictator in charge of FIDE, to destroy chess. 1. Taking back a move against Judit Polgar 2. Hijacking the Championship 3. Constant arguments with Organizers 4. Refusal to act civil when losing Radjabov 5 Accuse everyone of cheating, IBM(which cost chess...

database basics by ÿëѤ ²°°³
Get a Fritz 7 or Fritz 8 This program is absolutely essential for the serious tournament player. Fritz will not only analyze your games. It will annotate them and give you the tools to do your own custom annotation with the assistance of the fritz engine. You can also add game variations from one of the other databases you have in fritz into your very own games to see how your play varied from...

Online database at Chessbase.com by Douglas L Stewart
It tends to not work from time to time. I had that problem last night. Tonight I kept getting "server not found". I think it's an incentive to buy the real product. ;-) "c4b4e4" wrote in message ... I'm trying to do a search here and everything works fine until I hit "Search"-- it then goes into search mode, but never...

Gambit book: How to use Computers for chess by Christian Kongsted
Yes, this is the main subject of the book. I have used one year to study the various possibilities in the most important chess computer programs and I am discussing how to use these most effectively for chess improvement. I have found no other books that cover this subject in a satysfying way, and that is the reason why I wrote it. Christian

Sicilian Dragon by Tai-Pan2000
I really enjoy playing with the dragon and I have recently purchased Chris Ward's book Winning with the Dragon. However I find that the vast amount of games in the book white castles queen side which I find extremely odd. In the majority of my games my opponent castles king side. By castling queenside is white not making black's fianchettoed bishop even more deadly? Could someone please explain...

Threats in CB Light by DDEckerslyke
Is there any way of entering 'threat variations' in CB Light, ie is it possible to enter a variation where White plays two moves in a row? As explained in a previous thread I'm annotating games from LCMBM in CB Light but when it comes to something like 'White's chief threat is 17 Rxd5 exd5 18 Bxd5+' I'm stuck. If you use the analysis engine (Fritz 4.01 in my case) and press 'x' as it's whirring...

Who is the biggest jerk GM by King Leopold
GM Michael Rohde came to play the Orlando open several years back. Two days before the tournament, we got him to come to our club in Melbourne, Fl to give a lecture and a simul which he was paid handsomely for. He set up the rules for the simul (20 players) stating that each player may have two (2) passes when he got to their board. About half way through the games, he gets mad and with a whiny...
