Paul Truong is the Fake Sam Sloan by
Sam Sloan
I personally believe that one of the board members when I was on the
board actually knew exactly who the Fake Sam Sloan was, spoke to him
about it and encouraged him in his activities possibly even paying him
some money for this. That same board member posted to this forum that
he was "amused" by the postings of the Fake Sam Sloan. Furthermore,
that same board member shot down all of my requests...

Settlement Proposals by
samsloan
Post #75595 refers to my statement, "I think you guys are really
stupid", which was in response to the motion that was one vote away
from passing that the US Championship tournament be canceled and
replaced with a match between the champion and a challenger.
That was not a false statement. It was a true statement. They were
stupid. The USCF was formed in 1939 for the purpose of holding a...

chess variants by
ChessVariant Inventor
I would like some opinions on this chess variant: Birds and Ninjas
http://chess.computerwebservices.net/birds.php
It uses the flying bomber piece for the game Flying Bombers Grand Chess also found on that site:
http://chess.computerwebservices.net/flying.php
What do you guys think about that variant?
Or with chess variants in general?

The Crazy World Of Chess by
parrthenon@cs.com
GM LARRY EVANS' NEXT BOOK....
"The Crazy World Of Chess" (296 pages) will be published this August.
It can be pre-ordered from Amazon for $9.95.
I have just seen the proofs and the book is a humdinger.
The final chapter pays tribute to the late Arnold Denker, who had a
low opinion of chess politicians. An excerpt:

Charles A. Buck - article at Chess Cafe by
zdrakec
Thank you, Dr. Spinrad, for a fascinating article. You mention a story
involving a lawyer, a piece of candy, and an off-hand remark by
Morphy. I have never heard this story - would you mind providing some
details?

How the Mottershead Report became public by
samsloan
by Brian Mottershead on Mon Oct 29, 2007 1:16 am #76279
What Sam Sloan says is basically correct. I was asked by Bill Hall to
prepare a report for him and the EB. I did, and I put it up password-
protected on my private web site and sent the seven board members plus
Hall usernames and passwords so they could access it. I also gave
usernames and passwords to Brian Lafferty, who asked for a copy...

Polgar Wars: Polgar Group Declares Victory by
samsloan
I find it amazing when those who are a queen down in the endgame claim
that they are winning when the rest of the world can see that they are
losing.
Remember, during the Invasion of Iraq there was this official Iraq
government spokesman dubbed by the press as "Baghdad Bob" who daily
showed up for his TV interview in which he would claim that the
American forces were being decimated, driven...

Chess960 world championship resolved by use of a blitz tiebreaker match. Possible idea here? by
Rich Hutnik
Ok, in the ongoing idea suggesting new ideas for multiple reasons, I
am wondering about this one. I read in Games Magazine that the
Chess960 world championship was decided with a final game of Blitz
Chess960.
On that note, I am curious what people's thoughts would be if you were
to have regular chess have a final tiebreaker game be a blitz chess
match, rather than the world champion retain the...

to preserve it, as it will likely be deleted from the Forums soon.
Gregory Alexander has already responded with the same sort of rants
and raves:

Why does chess software seem to look so Windows 95? (CT-ART, Chess
Mentor, etc.)
Seems to me they would sell a lot more if they made the interface look/
function better.

Do you have any evidence that Bill Goichberg told the editor not to

Eric Moskow and the Reshevsky Memorial by
samsloan
Eric Moskow gives money to tournaments so that he can play in those
tournaments.
His FIDE rating is 2254, so he knows that he will not be invited to an
All-Grandmaster tournament unless he sponsors it.
Earlier this year, he played in the Gausdal GM-A in Gausdal, Norway, a
tournament in which the LOWEST Rated player other than himself was
Grandmaster Lajos Portisch, rated 2512.
