Nomorechess desire fulfilled by GetClub Chess. by
Sanny
Nomorechess was asking me to improve the Tactics for many days. I was
not understanding how to do that. But today an apple dropped and the
GetClub Chess Tactics was improved.
So the game will now make better moves than earlier as it will look
for tactics much deeper than earlier.
Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html
And let me know how good tactics GetClub Chess is playing against...

KIRSAN IS A DUNDERHEAD: GM Short is ordered to SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!! by
parrthenon@cs.com
A RIDICULOUS DECISION
After having examined the verdict of the so-called FIDE Ethics
Committee (an oxymoron) Larry Evans and I have concluded that it's
okay to call someone a cheat but not a dunderhead.

There is a new site on the web called chessvideos.tv They have
visual training exercises.

One requires you to determine the color of each square on the board in
a speed drill. That one I can handle since the colors are binary. I

Very interesting development. Even I have one:

But not everybody has one. How is it determined who has one and who
does not have one?

There are two on line chess computers id like to post here but by
SAT W-7
i do not know how to post them here..
One you can play people or the computer and you have to register , i
have done it and it works well but you should have another board set up
next to you because when the clock come on the screen it blocks some of
the 7th and 8 th rank ..Other than that is fun to play.
The other computer is very simple , you just click on PL for play and
it has two PL ,...

Duncan Oxley has died by
samsloan
Duncan Oxley has died
Duncan Oxley, a well known chess tournament and Internet personality
has died in Marina, California.
I am shocked to hear of his death especially since he called me on
Wednesday, August 29, 2007, and we had a telephone conversation
lasting over an hour on a wide variety of topics.
He told me that he was seriously ill. He had a disease of the large

Knight Moves by
Petrovitch
There is a game where your are asked to plot the course of a knight
moving from one square to another in a speed drill. Is there an
algorithm to solve this problem other than reiteration? This game must
be played mentally, not with a computer.

General Questions about the new uschess.org website by
samsloan
What board did that? Certainly not the board I was on. I would have
strongly opposed this and remembered it.
I have attended both of the meetings of the new board. There was never
any vote saying that college chess should be lumped together with
scholastic chess.
We have about 40,000 scholastic members. He have about 500 college age
members. When kids go to college they have more important...

Get Clubbed again! by
help bot
Okay, so I am playing a blitz game against GetClub.com's
Beginner level, and I go blind for one move and fail to see
that its Rook can take my Queen (oops!). I had just offered
her up for an obvious mate-in-two and in so doing, was
supposed to pin (i.e. disable) the single defender against
my back rank mates for a quick win. But alas, so ahead
was I that in spite of losing my Queen for nothing,...

I was watching one of the prison shows on the court tv channel and it
was San Quinton , they were showing a bunch of different things and
talking to people...gangs in side the prison + other things and it
showed guys playing Chess from two different cells ....They used toilet
paper to make the pieces and the powder from jello to color the pieces
....The board was colored cloth.

Susan Polgar claims she has a "Good Relationship" with Xie Jun now by
samsloan
In response to criticisms on the USCF Forums regarding the fact that
Susan Polgar refused to defend her Woman's World Championship title in
1998-1999, Susan has just today posted on her blog that she has a
"Good Relationship" with Xie Jun now.
http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/2007/09/chess-nostalgia.html
I would like to hear Xie Jun say that. I would also like to hear the
guy Susan slandered...

Susan, let me toss this out (since you're in a position to put a bug in
somebody's ear). Back in the '80s the USCF had a recognition program for
which just about everybody could qualify. They offered members...

A New Moderator, Tim Sawmiller, is Savaging the USCF Forums by
samsloan
Now that you have addresses that question kindly address my question.
You have as one of your first acts as moderator deleted an entire
lengthy thread that was started by me and had more than 20 replies.
You have made obvious your dislike for me over the past months.
How can you claim to act impartially in your new position as
moderator?

Contradictory Rules on USCF Forums by
samsloan
The "Tim Sawmiller Rule" provides that URLs and other links to
websites are not allowed.
However, the "Louis Blair Rule" provides that one must provide
"Substantial Proof" for any statement one makes. That "substantial
proof" will usually be a link or a URL to a website which supposedly
contains this proof.
These two rules are contradictory, meaning that nobody can post
anything to the USCF...

Suspension of Rich Jackson by
samsloan
Dear Mr. Rich Jackson,
I am not involved in your case. I do not know you. I have never
knowingly met you. I know nothing about you. I certainly have nothing
against you.
However, the evidence presented against you was overwhelming. You held
a scholastic chess tournament in Connecticut around two years ago. You
collected money from the kids and their parents, including entry fees
and membership...

What is the meaning of the word "Forum" ? by
samsloan
An online dictionary gives one definition of a forum as follows:
"A medium for open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as ... a
website."
However, the powers that be regarding the USCF Issues Forum seem to
have a different understanding of what the word "forum" means.
They seem to think that if, for example, Joel Channing expresses an
opinion, we should reply with:
