Harry Payne's mother is a whore by
samsloan
Now, all joking stops, do not!! I repeat do not! ever mention my
mother again. Also if you are going to quote scripture, be sure you do
it right and in context. I can play all the silly games you want Mark,
but donot ever mention my mother again. My mother is a whore and I
donot want to be reminded of it. Play nice little boy.

If Elected, Will Polgar Serve?? by
samsloan
It is rare for George to make a valid point but he makes a valid point
this time.
Yes, it is true. Intel Corp put millions of dollars into chess and
then Kasparov, who got the loins share of the money, turned around and
attacked Intel.
This is not the only time that Kasparov had done this. He formed the
Grandmasters Association and then attacked it. He formed the
Professional Chess Players...

The Polgar Truong Campaign Summarized by
samsloan
I knew that Bill was going to say that because Bill was always saying
what a good board member Garrett Scott was because Garrett Scott
mostly voted with Bill.
That is how Bill defines the difference between the "good" and "bad"
board members. The Good board members are those that vote with Bill.
The Bad board members are those that vote against Bill.
As to his claim that my account is fiction,...

Neoorthodox Chess by
Mats Winther
Neoorthodox Chess:
What would happen if we increased the board with one more square to the right? The corner square provides a hiding nest for the king should the player want to invoke play on the same wing and advance with the pawns.
Extended castle rule: besides normal castling one can choose to move the king three squares instead of two. The rook ends up on its usual square. The extended...

Resignation of Gregory Alexander as moderator5 by
samsloan
The motion to put Ron on the FOC was a surprise motion made by Bill
Goichberg during the meeting in Stillwater.
I was somewhat hesitant, but I believe that I voted for it. I do
object to the fact that Bill Goichberg keeps making these surprise
motions in such a way as to make it impossible to check on the posting
record of the person before voting.
I doubt that Bill will make a motion to put...

Dear Duncan Oxley,
Sorry, you missed the cut.
My second postcard, which was large size, 6 x 11, was sent to
everybody in Northern California with zip codes from 94000 to 96999
and also to codes starting with 104, which is Bronx, where I live.
Unfortunately, your zip code is 93933, so you did not quite make it.

A Brave and Foolish Act by
Rob
I am making a brave and foolish act. I have entered a song of mine in
a contest and I would ask that you listen and review it. HONESTLY. I
realize there are those who post here that will provide negative
feedback simply because we disagree on subjects. The issue in the song
concerns the treatment of our wounded and disabled American...

Executive Director endorsed by Bill Goichberg by
samsloan
Bill Goichberg, Jerry Hanken, myself and several onlookers were having
a public debate on USCF Governance during the World Open in Valley
Forge, Pennsylvania last weekend.
At one point, I stated, "Our Executive Director is the worst ever!"
To this, Bill Goichberg countered by reeling off a list of names of
former executive directors going back to the 1970s whom, he stated,
were worse than the...

Randy Bauer's Support for the Move to Crossville by
samsloan
Go back and read the archives of rec.games.chess.politics
Every time Bauer posted on the subject, he supported the move. He
wrote that the USCF would save $100,000 per year because Tennessee was
a low cost state.
Hanke disappeared in January 2004. He has never been seen nor heard
from since. He said that he had volunteered to go to Iraq and fight in
the war.

Sam Sloan's Games from the 2007 World Open by
samsloan
Here are my games from the World Open. This includes a game I played
as a filler in the Under-2200 section.
As will be observed, in most of the games I was lost, but still I
managed to score 6 1/2 - 3 1/2. Had I won my last round game I would
have won $500.

Anand vs Kramnik by
EJAY
Both players are coming off impressive wins recently with Anand
defeating Topalov in the Leon Final and Kramnik winning the Dortmand
event.I would say that they would be the two favorites to win the
World Championship Tournament coming up in Sept.Who would be favored
to win a Match between these players if a Match would determine who
the World Champion would
be?

Worst Chess Novel by
Chess One
Susan Polgar remarked this week that chess novels seem to present the game
as if, to paraphrase her comments, only eccentrics or grotesques played it,
and since I am reading the new Martin Cruz Smith novel which introduces
chess as a theme in his latest; Stalin's Ghost, the usual gritty Moscow
scene which Arkady investigates, and since I just corresponded with an
author writing a second...
