Michael Adams by EZoto
The top 30 players in the world was put on Chessbase. Why is Michael Adams there twice? Is there another Michael Adams or is this just a mistake. EZoto

Polgar Letter to the Board by samsloan
Here is the letter that started a big controversy in much the same way as the controversy to move the Denker got started. The letter looks innocent enough. She wrote, "The program would cost the USCF $0 in out of pocket expense". However, it turned out that Susan wanted one year of free ads in Chess Life which, she wrote, would not cost the USCF a penny. Within four days she started attacking...

Kramnik by EZoto
I know some still disagree but right now Kramnik is showing he is the World Champion and he is the man to beat to take the title. It would be great to see a match between him and Anand. Too bad that won't happen. Aronian would be a great match too. EZoto

Serious question on Sam Sloan's posts by Fred
Is Sam Sloan a real person? Someone mentioned in a post the other day that there are impostors. What is all this with Susan Polgar from "Sam Sloan"? I'm interested in chess news but not beefs between two people. Why isn't she playing in the Women's Championship? As someone else said, the signal to noise ratio is very low here.

Polgar, Truong and their Great Success in Training the Woman's Team by samsloan
We have heard hundreds of times on this and every other forum that it is entirely because of the Training Program by Susan and Paul, for which they demanded to be paid $50,000, that the USCF Woman's Team won the Silver Medal at the 2004 Olympiads. Why not consider the inconvenient truths? These include: 1. Teams sent in previous years were much weaker, mostly experts. 2. The US Team was...

Blitz rules question by markfinn_0@hotmail.com
Does someone have a definite answer to this question? Player A and Player B are playing a blitz game for sizeable (at least - to them) stakes. Player A has the piece in his hand to make the mating move, when Player B calls his tiime down (before he can complete the move). Who wins? An Eastern European spectator said that in "his country" you were always allowed to "complete" the mate. I would...

Posting by Stephen Jones by samsloan
Stephen L Jones posted: Jack, I, too, have wondered about the situation you referenced from the Atlantic Chess Center. Various people have accused me of not campaigning "hard enough." But the position on the Executive Board is non-paying, time-consuming, thankless, and with no likelihood that a board member could ever parlay his/her board position into a run for the US Senate. Sure, everyone...
