Exactly right. Matt just learned the legal moves of chess a few years
ago. Now, he thinks he knows as much as any what other chess players
who have devoted years to the game are thinking.

Sam Sloan

LOL. Here we go again.....

Does anyone else find it truly amazing that somebody like Sam Sloan --
somebody who can't even manage his own life, care for his own children
(legitimate or otherwise), or hold down a steady (and legal) job, and
somebody who has been soundly thrashed for every single office for which
he's ever run, including the USCF Executive Board (numerous times) --
thinks
that HE knows how to run the United States Chess Federation better than
it's
duly elected officials? He's not on the inside, nobody worth their salt
trusts him, nobody who supplies him with information has access to any
more
accurate sources than any other member who does their homework, and the
guy
STILL continues his exercises in futility.

What a ****ing imbecile.

Ever hear the expression "Speak for yourself"?

Regards,

Matt

Sam Sloan evidently knows New York law better than the entire
Executive Board, better than the lawyer and the real estate broker
USCF used to "sell" their building. And for this you call him an
imbecile? Clearly you've got some kind of problem, and you're trying
to make your problem his.

You draw your conclusion from what? That Sam filed a suit and showed up at
the hearing? The first thing that happened was the lawyer for the USCF
moved to dismiss, and Sloan was given 10 days to reply. That's pretty much
where things stand at the moment. Sloan wants to hang his hat on limiting
transfer of funds over the next 10 days, but what tangible effect will that
have on anything? He still has to prove his case for your statement to have
merit.

I assumed from previous posts that you have some legal background. What is
so "evident" in what has transpired so far to lead to your conclusions?

To put it into chess terms (I assume you play), we're barely out of the
opening, and you're predicting a victory to the lower-rated player. That's
rarely the case.

It is the only thing he has any demonstrated success at. Do you know of
anything else?

I am as surprised as you are.

I have an idea.
Lets just let Sam organize the SSCF.(Sam Sloan Chess Federation) He can
have his own bylaws, file his own paperwork do his own taxes, organize
his own championships, publish his own chess magazine, coordinate with
FIDE. He could also charge his own dues. I bet Bobby Fischer would even
become the second member, Sam being the first.grin
Rob

I am just teasing and not trying to pick a fight.

This is unintentionally funny.

As funny as your defense of the theft of $25,000 from CalChess?

Once more you shoot from the lip without knowledge. There was no theft. Only
the claim of politicians trying to profit by ripping off the kids.

But the politicians didn't profit, did they, Richard? You saw to that.
Whether your little disappearing act with the scholastic money was legal is
a matter for the courts. But from what I hear, you should stand-by for
heavy rolls, as we say in the Navy.

Richard,

I think it would be fair to say that I've pretty much kept an open mind
about your disputes with others in chess organizations, so please treat this
as a purely informational inquiry. As I recall, you've claimed that the
funds that are no longer in control of Calchess are being held by a third
party group. One of the issues with accepting the validity of this is I
don't recall any disclosure of who these people are, what their relationship
to Calchess is, and how plans to "return the money" have been developed. Of
course, how these people have the authority to make this determination is
another issue, but just a little sunshine directed on these stewards of
other people's money would be good.

Then you're out of your depth. You should never tease on RGCP unless you're
willing to fight.

The politicians didn't profit. Very true. Nor will their other efforts
succeed.

These political morons tried to have me arrested, but deliberately omitted
details to the police which proved me innocent.
The authorities have full knowledge of who, where, and now, why.

You will forgive me if I don't choose to share with you since you are sitting
on the same board as the batty yet dictatorial Mrs. Shaughnessy.
