Fischer and Saddam were messing with a wrong
guy -- Bush-senior.

It is one thing to mess with the president of
the USA, but another with the FATHER of the
president of the USA. Then you have to deal
with his SON.

That's all there is to it. Nobody likes to
have his father offended.

Otherwise, from a larger perspective:

1. It is great that finally there might be
two democratic countries in the Moslem world:
Afganistan and Iraq.

2. It's small and pityful to go after that
deranged Fischer, who deserves a psychiatric
treatment, and not a heavy handed and unjust
persecution.

But that's our world, just a big mess,
nothing but random mess.

It was pitiful to go after a country which had such a depleted arms force
that it couldn't have defended against a Canadian invasion, but that didn't
stop Bush either. Unfortunately for George, the terrorists (or as Ronald
Reagan would call them if they were fighting the Soviet Union "Freedom
Fighters") have far better weaponry and much more at stake to win than to
lose.
