"Sam Sloan" wrote in message oups.com... 2 questions for Dr. Dubeck: 1. How many members did the USCF lose under Beatriz Marinello? FACT: The USCF lost the most members ever under Beatriz Marinello. It's the worst record by any president. Would that be adult members or scholastic members? Because we could no longer afford to provide Chess Mates many promoters stopped pushing for memberships. As to adult, that kept trickling down but so it has over the past eight years. The Goichberg supported dues increase didn't help I'm sure. |

"Douglas L Stewart" wrote in message ... I hardly think the boards of 2000-2003 were much better. I have no idea if they lost more or less money, but they certainly lost a lot of money that led to a dramatic downsizing of the USCF. They're not running. |

wrote in message oups.com... Also, your claim that the 1997-1999 Board lost $238,000 in fiscal 1997 is very misleading, as all this money and more was lost in the early part of the fiscal year under the previous Board; in addition the new Board inherited a large severance payment due to the former ED. If you're gonna do that then factor in part of the 431,000 loss of 2000. That should more than offset the Lawrence bonus and even make your results more difficult. I say your meaning you and Don because you guys were the ones with control of the majority votes. |

"Tom Martinak" wrote in message oups.com... What is the status of that agreement? The last I saw posted on the USCF website was that the USCF was still owed $170,000 out of the "guaranteed" $350,000 (And that was after the concessions at some nationals were added to his contract). The status is that we're gonna redo the contract and both sides will be better for it. (Translation: We're gonna get less money.) |
