If you hate Sam please start a separate thread, titled, "I Hate Sam
And This
Is Why He Should Not Be Elected To The Board." I don't even care if
you're
truthful in it, that's between you and Sam. But at least have the
decency to
*allow* a discussion on the more relevant (to me) point of proper use
of
power as a USCF officer.

Of course, responsible people may discuss these issues, and indeed they
do.... We don't need to be guided in this discussion by persons of low
character such as Sam Sloan. Even on Usenet.

I'll be in and out of the office this afternoon if you'd like to
discuss the matter further: 312.252.1300.

Anybody know if there is truth to this? Let's hope she makes a speedy
recovery. Regardless of our feelings
about some of her actions I doubt anyone here wishes her harm.

Assuming Beatriz works through the Natrol issue to the Board's
satisfaction, I would be very comfortable if she continued as
President; I've met her, talked with her face-to-face, like her

and
respect her.

... which makes you the source of
the USCF's lack of accountability,
common sense, and character, not
Sloan.

Have you met her?

No. And I don't need to in order to form
the above opinion. The action speaks
for itself. Anyone who could enter into
that deal has competence and character
issues irrespective of other good points
she may have. Likewise her apologists.

You do if you want to debate Brock's "I would be very comfortable if she

This is precisely the problem. Beatriz Marinello talks well, looks
good, dresses well, is polite and respectful and in every way appears
to be great.

When I watched her play five minute chess against Campomanes and I
recorded the moves, she looked like she was worth a million bucks
(spelled with a "b", and if I did not know her as well as I do I would
prefer to spell it another way).

I actively campaigned for her and helped her get elected.

However, now I know her better and I am sadly aware of what a
terrible, awful, horrible person she is.

I'm not disagreeing with his positive personal appraisal.
I'm saying that his acceptance of abysmal conduct reflects
on the organization as a whole.

I don't see it as abysmal. Much too harsh a word for her.
