Default Vegas Chess Tournament

Has anyone seen this?

http://www.chessinvegas.com/

I saw a real flashy pamphlet. Looked real
expensive to print. Odd I have seen no news
of this through my tradition circle of contacts.

Anyone know anything about this?

Duncan

Just what you have. I suspect the details are still being finalized. One
hopes there will be a guarantee by a Yank bank. Sure hate to send 410 bucks
to England and then have to sue for a refund.

That's what I was thinking.. Dunno who these guys are. Not saying

not a good sign that the dates are wrong, e.g. "Thursday, Sept 14"
http://www.chessinvegas.com/worldwide-challenge.htm

also, how much chess can vegas support? goichberg is already upping the
ante at the north american open.

but they are claiming support from ashley and hbfoundation which i'd
expect will publicly disavow if it aint so.

14th September 2006 is, indeed, a Thursday.

On the question of how much chess can Vegas support.

Plenty.

I know of two hotels that wish to have a tournament every month.

Don't think that will happen, but it might be interesting
