While driving down to Philadelphia last weekend we got stuck on Rte 76 east
near the turnoff for City Avenue. I was surprised to see that the Adam's Mark hotel was still standing. But that's not all!! It appeared construction was underway on the roof. New metal beams were in place, presumably for supporting a new top floor. The hotel was supposed to be razed to make way for a big home improvement store. But surely it doesn't take 15 months to demolish a hotel. Does anyone know what is going on? Will I have the opportunity to go 0-6 once again in the U-2200 section of the Liberty Bell Open in that wonderful, spacious ballroom? Will I have to return all those, um, souvenirs if the hotel re-opens? adp |

No, but we will continue to argue whether Randy Bauer (what a great name!) said something nasty about Raymond Keene, England's first GM. I think the offense first occurred at Cornecobbe, Lancastershire, on or around St. Brix day, 1137. "Ange1o DePa1ma" wrote in message ... The thing on top of the hotel is the new USCF flying saucer. It is to
be used to deliver kiddie chess trophies so large that anti-gravitational devices must be employed. Old Haasie |
