Has Tim Hanke Gone to Iraq Yet?

Apparently, not many have noticed that in late January Tim Hanke
posted to both the chess groups and the Latin Language Groups (he
teaches Latin in high school) that he intended to go to Iraq and fight
for the honor of his country.

(snip)

Since then, Tim Hanke has been silent. He has not responded to emails.
He did not participate in the telephone call of February 27 and he did
not attend the Executive Board meeting in Berkeley California on the
weekend of April 2-3. Nobody has heard from Tim Hanke in two months.

Translation -- Sam Sloan hasn't heard from Tim Hanke in two months, ergo NOBODY
has heard from Tim Hanke in two months. It's a crock -- gee, isn't that a
surprise...

The last posting by Tim Hanke was on February 10, 2005 comparing Susan
Polgar to Adolph Hitler.

On Jan 29, 4:34 pm Tim Hanke posted under USCF governance:

Now that I have saved the USCF, I'm looking around for something else to do.

This is why I re-joined the National Guard two weeks ago. The Iraq mess needs to be cleaned up, and I like a challenge.

SGT Tim Hanke

Since then, no word has been heard from Tim Hanke, who was VP of
Finance at that time.

Under the by-laws the VP of Finance was required to sign off on any
payments to Beatriz Marinello. After January 29, 2005 it seems that
Hanke never signed any documents at all, other than his letter of
resignation.

Unless a document can be produced signed by Sargent Tim Hanke
authorizing the payments to Beatriz Marinello of $13,926.00, those
payments were illegal and must be repaid.
