For once, I agree with Sloan. RW has convictions and would be a
killer of a delegate.

Sam seems to want to make a tradition of this little joke every USCF
election. For readers unfamiliar with Weinstein, he is a convicted
murderer.
Then again, knowing Sloan, he might be quite serious about promoting
Weinstein's candidacy.

In fact, I am 100% serious about this.

I have a plan:

In the first place, he was not convicted of murder. It appears that he
was never charged. I presume that he was deemed too crazy to stand
trial, but I do not know.

I am told that this happened in 1972 during the Fischer-Spassky Match
in Iceland and it was published in the New York Post. However, I have
never been able to find the clipping.

My plan is based on the fact that this year there are 13 candidates
for 14 positions. Therefore, if I can get just 10 or 20 New Yorkers to
write in the name of Raymond Weinstein, he will be elected.

Once elected, I will petition the courts to release him for the
weekend so that he can attend the USCF delegate's meetings. I will
emphasize that New York needs to have its full strength delegation
present. Otherwise, New York Chess Players may lose out.

Having Weinstein as the official New York Delegate gets me into court
with legal standing to get him released for the weekend.

I believe that this petition will have a good chance of success,
especially since he has been locked up for 34 years.

Once there at the delegate's meetings, perhaps they will let him play
in the US Open Chess Championship, which will be going on at the same
time. I will be very interested to see if he can still play chess at
the Grandmaster level. I am betting that he can.

So, all I need is about 10 or 20 write-in votes for Raymond Weinstein
to start this grand plan rolling.

Sam Sloan

You should join Raymond Weinstein in jail. You're a bigger scumbag than
he is. I bet that assholes like Parr would gladly vote for both of you.
You're a kiddie ****er!

That was 42 years ago. How can he still be insane after 42 years of therapy
and medications? Seems like the guy must have a really bad attorney or his
family does not care or they passed away.

Do you think Charles Manson is sane? It's been 37 years since Sharon
Tate and four other peoplere were murdered by Manson and his followers.

Here's another story about Weinstein, on Tim Krabbé's Chess Diary

Scan down to item #64, "Raymond Weinstein in Amsterdam." It appears
that before he committed murder in the USA, Weinstein came close to it
in Holland.

Interesting link. Thanks, now we have a more complete picture.
