Rob wrote: wrote: Chess Nazis? Please. Hyperbole is definitely not your cup of tea. If the boot fits, wear it proudly as Neil does. You know who you are and so do we. You should perhaps consider who the Nazis were and what they did to people's lives, how many people died in the cause and then come back and consider whether this is a case of Nazism. Consider how many poor Jews were carted off to camps. Exterminated. Experimented on. Treated like trash. Consider how many soldiers died on all sides. Consider how the civilians who had to live under the regime, and died because of it. Consider those, who for five years after the war, were happy to get a crust of bread. Consider our friends the British who died by bombs, civilian no excuse. Then come back and call me a Nazi. Unfortunately, people like you trivialize real issues by engaging in this sort of discourse.Your immaturity is very unappealing, and I don't see anyone coming forward to support your wrong-headed stance. |

Rob wrote: A few questions: 1. What is a "pseudohistorical elite"? 2. What "powers" do we possess? I would like to know, because I don't see myself possessing all that much power here. 3. Are you postulating multiple Hitlers, with your use of the plural? 4. Do you think sometimes it would be better to think before you type? |

Rob wrote: I trivialize nothing. I know their horror. I also aksed if the boot fit, wear it as Neil does. IF it does not apply to you , prove it by your actions, words and deeds. Currently you and Neil have done nothing to dispel the application of the term Chess Nazi from yourselves. We have done nothing to earn it, except by your bigoted and intolerant postings. You don't know their horror at all. I do. I've been there. My people have been there. My people suffered because of the Nazis, all of them. As one who has German and Jewish blood in his veins, I recommend you make an immediate retraction. Even if I didn't know the horrors, no boot would fit me or millions of other newsgroup posters. The analogy is that of a child who cannot verbalize his true feelings, thus all not like him are evil. Academia is a safe place for the intellectually intolerant. Apparently so is Nashville. How sick you must be to feel you have to call someone a Nazi. |

Rob wrote: By claiming a special moral/intellectual superority aginst people who hold certain beliefs and in your own way seek to silence them you are showing a trait not unlikea Nazi. I never did this, although apparently you think so. Whom have I sought to silence and how? Against what people with a group of beliefs have I claimed a superiority? Hint - If you can't answer the question directly, your accusations are pure bull****. Now you seek to disparage a city,Nashville, in a vain attempt to stir up regional bias Who was it who disparaged universities first? I merely echoed a sentiment of yours and replaced the city you work in with the place I work in. If I knew the place you worked in, I would have used that instead. Besides, you cannot know my intentions!!!! (famous last words, we could only hope!) I guess it isn't as nice when it comes back atcha in the old puss, huh? You suck at the use of rhetorical devices even worse than your master. Or is that worser? Or just plain Wurst? |
