These "pledges" might be one of the more ridiculous, childish ideas
ever suggested on this forum.

Yes, public commitments are so silly, aren't they, Matt?

I rank it right up there with the
You-Can't-Be-In-Our-Recess-Club-So-Neener-Neener-Neener sorties
launched at nose-pickers on the elementary school playground.

If you guys don't wanna ignore Innes or Mitchell, go right ahead. No
need to celebrate this absurdity. Drop 'em in the ol' killfile & be
done with it.

Since I post through Google, I don't have that option. And since I've
been criticized for responding to the Brattleboro Bedlam, and it was
suggested to me publicly that I 'take the pledge', I thought I should
do so in public. I had no idea that the people who had accused me of
stalking His I-ness would spend six weeks stalking me for ignoring him.

Matt:

Sorry to hear you do not like the pledge strategm. And I do appreciate
you expressing your view.

Some of us 'ratpackers' enjoy tweaking the annoying pests on rgcp. Guess
their choice (the pests) is either reform or be ignored. It's what larry parr
would refer to as good, clean fun to amuse ourselves in our old age.

Either that, or just put your hands over your ears, close your eyes and

A great idea! And who authored the above quote? Not I. Nor Neil
Brennen.

)

And there you have them, er, it.

Instead, it was our lovable phil '**** you" innes.

It's often stated that a stopped clock will be correct twice every day.
phil "**** you" innes is right this time. Let's wait 12 more hours to
see if he's right again!

but seriously folks -- why are intelligent people feeding the robtroll?
He's
never going to go away if we give him the attention that he obviously
lacks
at home. Plus, the gent exhibits some real serious issues.

I recommend ignoring the robtroll unless he discusses chess issues.

I also recommend same. I am glad you two do too.

Below is a google search. Three pages long. Should one wish to verify
they can execute the search themselves and review in greater detail

Will he retract his statements or will he contend he made a "typo"?

Neil,

That would make a little more sense than Wagner. But I did a bit of
googling and it looks like the better sources say it was neither --- it
was Richard Strauss.
