Roger that. Should I intermittently provide negative reports?

I have no idea what you are referring to. Negative reports about what, to
who?

Meaning, when I *don't* receive unsolicited emails, mailings or
phonecalls -- like I haven't for the past seven years -- should I
periodically drop you an email with a "Nothing heard -- out."?

I won't touch it. A little too pot...kettle...black for me.

SEE "HAPPY TALK IS HERE AGAIN"

This June new editor Daniel Lucas undertook a makeover of Chess Life, a
house organ of the U.S. Chess Federation. Although the USCF is expected
to end this fiscal year in the red, the redesign was implemented by a
consultant who was awarded the $50,000 job without any open bidding.

What you (or somebody) should do is fire the Exec Dir, Chess Life editor,
website editor, etc. and get people in management & operations who are
responsive to and care about USCF members. They don't. They're incompetent,
self-centered, arrogant, and blind to everything except what they perceive
to be the godalmightybuck - typical MBA-style insensitivity and
narrowmindedness. They are a major disaster for USCF and the sooner we get
rid of them the better.

They have my (at least) dedicated, full-fledged, most loyal vote of
"no-confidence", and I have absolutely no interest in politics nor any
private agenda to pursue. They earned it!

Chess Life is worse than it was before and I won't be renewing when my
membership expires in January.

It was a disaster. The "consultant" should be required to pay back the
$50,000 because it was a rip-off, plus another $1,000,000 in damages. Lucas
should be fired as obviously incompentent, and totally out of touch with the
USCF membership. The new Chess Life under Lucas is entirely for the upper 1%
of USCF rated members, and the other 99% are being ignored. Nobody (99%)
wants to read all that technical chess garbage they're printing now.

Your private information is no longer safe with USCF. It used to be secure,

In other words, they sell it to marketing companies, or anybody else who
wants it. That includes your name, address, email, phone number, and
EVERYTHING!! So you can kiss your sweet arse goodbye if it depends on
security, discretion, and good judgement by current USCF management. That's
a thing of the past.

What really puzzles me is how such a group of total idiots gained control
and took over USCF without the members becoming aware of what was
happening?!

Your credit card companies do ths, your cable company does this, the
phone company does this, every magazine and newspaper does this as
well. You have an option to keep your information private in most
cases. Credit card companies make so much money selling lists that if
you read your fine print in your contract, you cant opt out with many
companies.

I don't think its all that big a deal as it concerns the USCF.

I heard they only sold it to very, VERY high-class escort services,
since as a group we are all suave, disinguished-looking studs who like
to spread a lot of money around and know how to show a lady a good
time.

Oops, wrong group...sorry, got this confused with one of my
Euro-gambling forums...
