This weekend www.chessville.com introduces an article relating to the future
of Fide, and a new GM contender for President. This announcement is contained in a new 20-question interview, and the Parrot Column contains reaction to the news from experienced Fide watchers. Phil Innes |

Pihl,
I am sorry for the tone. I offered FIDE a cease fire, and if they reject it, I am going to have to spend like 20,000 dollars proving dead letter law. What I am saying is that another Bessel Kok type GM won't beat Kirsan. Kirsan will just buy the votes from Africa, or the Carribean. I need to tone down. However, if it were your money, you would be upset yourself. Marcus Roberts Chess One wrote: wrote in message ps.com... Phil I nave no intention of supporting a minorty group from FIDE. wrote in message ups.com... Pihl, I am sorry for the tone. o - i didn't notice anything - i would be mad too, if ostracised and didn't understand why, or when i did understand, thought it unfair I offered FIDE a cease fire, and if they reject it, I am going to have to spend like 20,000 dollars proving dead letter law. What I am saying is that another Bessel Kok type GM won't beat Kirsan. he is a businessman who underestimated not chess politics, but political business of the Russian Dumas with one of its Republics, Putin: Kirsan and oil $s Kirsan will just buy the votes from Africa, or the Carribean. I need to tone down. However, if it were your money, you would be upset yourself. sure Marcus Roberts i had a west indian friend called reggie, and he tutored me in table-tennis, and he would say to hit the ball HARD ross clot!, and sure enough, he was amazing - i would score 5 to his 21. it took me two years to learn to play him, and then i developed more spin than anyone he had played before - then i could win but some games you can't win, and not even a millionairre who supported chess all over western europe could win, even though he had all their support - this is now the big question - can someone who is honorable and good even get elected, or is it time for a bit of competition? so its not just HARD politics, its something to do with us - as is said in the usa, 'we the people?' I don't know which way it will go be cool, man, and if you can't, be hot! phil |
