In response to your three points above:

1. I do have a plan to bring in one million scholastic members by 2009
and it was discussed at the last meeting of the board.

Bill Hall stated that this should be kept confidential because this
plan is being put into effect on an experimental basis in a few
schools, and is not ready for public discussion.

2. LARRY EVANS HAS NOT BEEN BROUGHT BACK. I can tell you that the Larry
Evans issue is one of several reasons why there is discussion going on
as to whether Mr. Lucas should be replaced. I predict that if Mr. Lucas
does not start paying attention to the concerns of the board, he might
be out soon. Mr. Lucas was at the meeting in Stamford but he left early
before we got to the point on the agenda where we were all going to
give him what-for over Chess Life.

3. I have demanded that independent legal counsel be retained to
determine of we have clear title the building in Crossville and the
land under it. Bill Goichberg and Joel Channing have been opposed. No
problem. I intend to sue Joel Channing for a few million dollars for
building on land before finding out whether we own it or not and
getting our money back that way.

Dear Mike Nolan,

If, after reading this post, you feel that you have any problem(s)
dealing with it quickly and definitively, I want to know about it.

OK. A valid point. Then, I will just sue him for a half million
dollars, unless, of course, he is able to establish that we really do
have clear title to the land.

I cannot believe this statement made it into an Internet forum. For the
record, yes Joel Channing touched my leg at the last board meeting, and
I nicely removed his hand. I did not interpret this action as
disrespectful.

If I have to guess this action was more like a control gesture than
anything else.

It's quite embarrassing to me clarifying this issue. I am a woman
chess player, so I grow up around male players. Therefore, I feel very
comfortable around men and I think that it's also true with my male
friends. They feel very relax when they are with me.

I do not think that Joel violated the Executive Board's code of conduct
with this action, although I will prefer that this does not happen
again...

Steve, I have read the posts and the BINFO's and have had more
discussions in the past week about USCF issues than I care to think
about at 4:30 a.m. At the same time, we live in a free country. I would
much rather participate in a forum where outlandish things may be
posted and there is an attempt made to moderate the forum effectively
rather than a forum where opposition postings are deleted.

Since you posted this Sloan posted the following...

Right now what we know is that Susan Polgar and Paul Truong took the

They should return it real quick, unless they can produce some

file a police report.

Do you still think these forums are the best place for candidates
wanting a positive campaign to respond to questions?

In the following posting, Joel Channing seems to be alleging that it
must have been Sam Sloan who reached under the table and put his hand
on the thigh of Beatriz Marinello.

However, this is not true. Both of us were close to Beatriz. I was
sitting on her right. Joel was sitting around the corner on her left.
Joel was easily close enough to her to reach under the table and put
his hand in her lap. (I have a wife too, by the way.)

Sam Sloan

Dear Beatriz,

I have asked two people who were at the meeting their recollection of
where I was sitting. Both confirmed that I was sitting across the table
from Sam at both sessions and you were sitting next to him. The table
was wide and I don't think I could have reached you if I wanted to. I
also left a message with the Liebermans to please confirm this as soon
as possible.

I've been happily married for 37 years and I make it a point never to
touch any woman other than my wife. I can't believe you would involve
yourself in this sort of thing.

After the Liebermans check the tape I'm going to ask Mike Nolan to
address this post.

Default Yes or no, Sloan: are you claiming to have had sex with the teenaged Susan Polgar?

You're judgment-proof. What's the problem?

You're capable of making the insinuation. Why can't you answer the
question?

If I'm baselessly trolling, then give a flat "no" and return to
substantive issues.

I can't get on the USCF forums. I have been banned becasue of my
anti-American chess poltiical views. Mike Nolan has many poltiical
enemies, and the enemies he makes are for really trival issues, like
acces to a web site. Dissent is a bais American freedom, and as a US
Citizen, I feel that the USCF is run quite like FIDE.
