Interesting. I didn't know Phil did voice-overs.

I was hoping that this might be real, and not a joke.

I would greatly appreciate it if somebody would bring a 3-chip camera
to the Executive Board meeting in Pasadena CA on February 3-4, 2007 and
broadcast our deliberations on Google Videos and elsewhere.

I want to make a real movie about this.

I want to be famous at all costs. Being famous will help me get more
virgins and minors. Please film this session and show it to the whole
world. The USCF will have to pay $1,300 for my flight, hotel, ground
transportation and I can **** my girlfriend all weekend long for free.
Please vote for me for 4 more years.

FAKE VIDEO

Sam Sloan is right. Both the Delegates' meeting and
the board meetings are good material for film.

In 1995 GM Larry Evans and I tape recorded the open
meeting in Tempe, Arizona, and placed the entire text
online. Subsequently USCF president Harold Winston
passed a motion banning tape recorders at these meetings,
but it was rescinded after howls of protest.

Of course, there are long stretches of tedium
that will bring tears to even a Stalin's eyes. The
film would have to be edited, but when all is said and
done, there is real entertainment at Board and
Delegates' meetings.

Twenty years ago it was the practice of USCF
employees attending the U.S. Open to hold a dinner
following the Delegates' meeting to vote on an annual
Moron at the Mike Award. The discussions were secret,
and everyone was supposed to cast aside one's
political and personal preferences when casting their
votes. In short, if one of your own delivered a
speech epochal in its inanity and fatuity, you were
expected not to deny the fact and vote for that moron.

Randy Hough and I voted on this award two or
three times during our years at the Federation, and I
hope he recollects the dinners, conversations and
votes as affectionately as I do. Even Gerry Dullea,
who had to keep a poker face and maintain a suitable
mien, used to smile, if not guffaw like the rest of
us, during these dinners.

Randy used to say that the Delegates were
baboons, whereas I imagined that they were
unspecified anthropoids.

Of course, these days, Randy is an official and no longer
entertains such heresy about our Best and Brightest.
