our wise leader, a naval gentleman, has fixed up a group of players here
with other teams - i note i am to play some serious boggart rated 2380 from a bloody serious looking chess country, and another bloke 2250 - in fact the main opposition team [so far] seem to outrank every hitman by about 150 points our leader has not shared any strategy so far, such as on giving draws to much stronger opponents, and so we are all three fourths to the wind without a paddle, as they say in the navy, thems that can, that is, thems that are sober even by naval standards [can speak or murmur] you might be laughing - but this is /your/ honor we are defending chess one |

In a further, but unoffical announcement, Chess One said today:
rec.games.chess.politics have a chess team! The RGCP hitmen have played a tournament among themselves - 2 day e-mail games which seems to be about the normal speed - and are now taking on the world, including some very strong players from other countries [I see I am matched in one encounter with a 2380+ player, while the whole team is playing up 150 points] SHOCK- HORROR, A sexist term deployed? Any active players out there who want to join in have to do 2 things:- (1) fight for their place onto the team, and (2) talk with either organiser, Rob Mitchell who posts here and organises other tourneys, or to be a HitMan [sexist no? I should have preferred HitPerson since you never know if a woman might want to join in or in fact if any of the guys you innocently write with here actually /is/ a woman, and, as ani ful no, their preference is HitPerson, a term apparently not in use in the modern Navy] contact navy-guy Matt Nemmers who posts in rec.games.chess.politics Grandmasters /are/ permitted to apply, but are /not/ allowed to tell King's Indian jokes. In an OFFICIAL STATEMENT, Hitman Captain Nemmers [no known relation to Cap'n Nemo] issued this broadside from his flag-barge:- We are committed to humiliating the trolls, spammers & flamers who have infested our bulletin board. And since we cannot control when and how they post, we must aspire to crush them over the board. Select posters to the Usenet newsgroup rec.games.chess.politics are welcome to apply. We are currently playing in Division 3 of the world chess events league, in a league pyramid. May Caissa have mercy on our souls!
