You wrote In the meantime, I challenge anyone actually interested in what I wrote to note the high interest in subjects to do with children, and utter taboo on anything to do with themselves: and if there is anyone out there who works in the social sciences you will know what this means. Phil Innes I accuse Bill Hall, USCF Executive Director and USCF President Goichberg of COVERING UP the molestation of children like the Catholic Church. That is, members such as Sam Sloan (a convicted kidnapper who served prison time) use his position to attempt to have sexual intercourse with minor children at chess tournaments. This behavior is supported by a pro homosexual crowd. The lack of background checks in scholastic volenteers demonstrates that the Executive Committee, Susan Polar included, wants to use children as sex objects. Former USCF Delegates such as Sutter are CONVICTED SEX OFFENDERS. Former Executive Board member GM Albert was suspected of problems with children while in office, similar to Sam Sloan. Let's set the record straight: the USCF is run by a gay liberal group of people who want to use children as sex toys in the name of chess. Let's further DESTORY the 501c4 corporate entity, known as the USCF, and replace it with a 501c3 entity. You can't talk about children in chess without talking about HOMOSEXUALITY and the pro gay support that Hall supports to teach children to be GAY. I am trying not to gay bash, but I will if forced. Former USCF Delegates such as Sutter are CONVICTED SEX OFFENDERS. Just to make a comment at this point: the idea of any Standard is that it shall apply to all people, and be conducted impartially. The standard I suggested is the normal one, and not even very stringent. What is otherwise said or thought is less reliable than a standard background check which also takes into account the relationship to the person investigated of those consulted. While I am not at all certain than any of these people are as you say - in our society we do have a growing problem with illegal sexual predatory activity concerning young people, and I think this must be noticed as well as that there is nothing in particular to recommend chess as any sort of exemption from this scrutiny. There has been problems with church groups concerning children [not only Catholics, BTW], and with Boy Scouts, and even Little League. One organisation I work with said that in California 50% of their applicants are rejected as not suitable mentors for children. A shrink friend says [ironically] that in England 50% of child abuse is conducted by males [his irony is males get all the bad press, but obviously the other 50% are females!] Gay couples [male or female] are, for example, proportionally /less/ likely to be sexually abuse than heterosexual couples, but only a bit less, and certainly cannot be exempted. Each of these groups above have now adopted voluntary measures above the legal minimum requirement as a response to the Dark Side of this medium, the internet, where so much more salicious material is now available, publishing from relatively secure anonymity. The implication for chess is that /without/ some level of self-screening, such access as we may have to mainstream education will be impossible if it is to involve the chess community. It is not my opinion that prominent individuals need screening, since, also very evident in these matters, is that abuse is as likely to occur from those in the closet as those people who excite these subjects - even sometimes from those who want to repress others' expression on these topics because it excites them, and they fear their own reactions. This point of view is rarely admitted as a fact by those with personal fear of this subject, OR those who express it in the first place as being their responsibility for exciting unwonted passions in others, yet the relationship seems clearly established between these factors. This is why, IMO, the subject is worth exploring, in sober fashion, and for everyone having to do with children in chess. First of all we have to admit there is a problem. wrote in message ps.com... On St Kitts and Nevis, we can't even self screen. We must accept CHILD MOLESTERS, appointed by FIDE, in order to join. Marcus, I ask a question about this lower down. The real problem is that both I and my the President of the St Kitts and Nevis National Olympic Committee (Mr. Bridgewater) were clearly OFFENDED at these FIDE officials (Bill Kelleher) DEMANDING that 1. St Kitts and Nevis set up a scholastic chess program, as a requirement for admission to FIDE Is this the same use of 'scholastics' as in USA? Here it means a chess club in a public or private school. In all public schools there is a federal mandate to conduct background checks on teachers, and also on coaches, even if they are part-time and unpaid and after hours. Is this the same where you are? 2. I issue illegal visits to Olympiads for illegal aliens as a requirement for admission to FIDE, some of whom could be children. These VISAS are sold on the open market as a ticket to illegal immigration, for lots of money. Strange! Is there a normal residency requirement on Kitts and Nevis to become a citizen? What does the law think about this? 3. St Kitts and Nevis accepts that FIDE has a right to strip our children naked and watch them pea. This would be for the drug-testing requirement. I understand 3 things about this; (a) I thought Fide had stated that they would not drug-test children? Is there a new change in these rules? The situation is so confused that some time ago I interviewed the American chiropractor who was a proponent of drug testing procedures, a Dr. Press, at Chessville - actually, we offered him an op-ed piece. (b) I also understood that the USCF has said that no testing should take place on American soil. I have not seen the wording of this declaration, nor understand if it - and I think this is important now - includes Fide-rated tournaments not organised by USCF taking place on American soil. [As you know, Fide are now to hold tournaments here which include ratings down to 1000 [?]. In trying to get answers from USCF, I was able to gain with Bill Hall an agreement to have press conferences every 2 months so these issues could be clarified and better understood. Unfortunetely I think Mr. Hall has been shut-up, so from my own knowledge I can't assure you on these issues. (c) Larry Parr has pointed out for several years that the wishes of the USCF delegates [supported by the board] have not seen to be in accord with the actions of Fide delegates - in fact, these 'representatives' have been seen to actually promote drug-testing here. Questions on these issues have been raised by Parr, and also GM Evans and GM Seriwan particualrly, but Silence has been the Stern Reply! Therefore, what sort of assurance can I give you of what actually will happen here in the United States, even though popular opinion seems to think drug testing is utter nonsense? We - in St Kitts and Nevis - don't want to be told by FIDE how to start a national chess federation. I have no interest in giving the folks from Barbados a chance to fly over to our country and STRIP our children naked. It is offensive to our sovereignty. Chess is not a chance to turn our children queer. Let me go back to the top - {since what follows would merely be my opinion, which is of no consequence to any program to the welfare of children in chess, nor who should administer them - these issues are covered to large degree by the laws of the country.} The issue seems to be a necessity to create a scholatics program - and I assume this has some minimum dimensions, that it is held in a school with at least one teacher/mentor, and at least one student. Voila! A program. What threshold does Fide want above this? Are you also saying that you have no control of such a mentor or would not be assured by normal /scholastic/ rules as in the US, that this may not be an appropriate person? A last note - Nigel Short wrote a criticism last week of Fide in Africa, and of evident corruption and lack of support for the entire continent. Is it possible for you to ally with the Commonwealth Chess Association instead of Fide? N. Short is head of it at the moment, and I recently made him some introudctions in other parts of the 'third word', in India especially. He was attentive. Cordially, Phil Innes Before we admit a problem, look at the DEMANDS from Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, President of FIDE. (above, #1, #2, #3). When I refused, Kirsan tried to THROW ME IN JAIL and now has REFUSED US ADMISSION. We will not tolerate the molestation of our children for the greater glory of FIDE The problem is HUGE, to the extent that my government has doubts about joining a "family" of people who fly to our island, and DEMAND that our children become sexual objects. I take offense to the FIDE "family's" demands.. Kirsan is in bed with so many pro homosexual interests he does not realize that the reason the Caribbean is the most underdeveloped part of the planet Earth for Chess is the sexual demands of FIDE. I will not allow our children to be molested. We refuse to implement a scholastic chess program, as FIDE has requested our government. Let me say it: HELL NO to scholastic chess. The problem is TOO GREAT. In my personal view, I do not object to homosexuality. I do object when children are TAUGHT that being homosexual is ok. It is inappropriate to use the game of chess as a pro homosexual sounding board. The arrogance of both American and FIDE officials is directly proportional to the number of closet homosexuals in office. I support a man or woman's right to choose their sexual orientation. I do not support this game to turn our children QUEER. First of all we have to admit there is a problem. I admitted there was a problem when I resigned as a USCF VIce President (1 year into a 3 year term) for this various reason. in 1993 I am proud of my decision then, and now. FIDE VP Kellher has objected to any membership on the USCF Board of Delegates, while I am associated as a candidate FIDE Delegate in fear that I will point this PROBLEM out. Phil - why don't you admit Vermont into the USCF. Is there a USCF Delegate in Vermont? Marcus Roberts |
