A typically false and misleading statement by Gregory Alexander.

He makes it sound like he used to play 20 years ago and has been
organizing for 20 years.

In reality, Gregory joined the USCF for the first time in his life
only recently, and played in the first USCF games in his life on
8-12-07, less than two months go. It was a three game affair. Gregory
has never directed a USCF rated chess tournament in his life, so his
capabilities as an organizer are unknown.

I can assure you that George Arndt is a real person and is very much
alive.

It is to be recalled that I was missing one issue of Chess Life which
I needed to publish my recent book "Pal Benko's Endgame Laboratory".

George was kind enough to send me the June 1982 issue of Chess Life,
which was the issue I was missing.

To thank him I sent him a complimentary copy of my book when it came
out a few weeks ago.

He PMed me a few days ago to thank me for the book and tell me that it
is a good book.

This is a typical lie and exaggeration from Sam. I posted this in the
forums, and somehow, he failed to indicate my response. Imagine that.

Here was my response for those who want to waste time on this:

I used to play in and was rated in with a Washington State rating (we
had a different rating system at the time) and competed in scolastic
play. On occassion, I was competitive with 2100 USCF rated players at
age 19, and played in the military. After serving, I stopped playing
chess as I was told that in order to get better, I would have to study
and was not up for it. While working for in the Human Genome Project
at the UW; I jumped back in to chess when I found out that my
university did not have a well organized club. I resurrected the ICCL
about 4-5 years ago, and have organized many national collegiate
