You might want to rewrite either 19 or 22 to include the fact that Sloan's
litigation history has also been brought up by Mr. Bauer. And I think the inclusion of 21 in its current form devalues the list. You must keep your own standards high when pointing out the low or non-existent standards of others! Keep up the good work. "Mike Murray" wrote in message ... How much is the 9-0 verdict from the Supremes worth? Brian, Please try to keep up on past discussions of "the 9-0 verdict from the Supremes." "During this series of suspensions respondent Sloan ...filed a petition in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit challenging the orders on a variety of grounds. On October 15, 1975, the court dismissed as frivolous all respondent's claims, except his allegation that the "tacking" of 10-day summary suspension orders for an indefinite period was an abuse of the agency's authority and a deprivation of due process." Justice Rehnquist on SEC v Sloan. All claims but one dismissed as frivolous . . . and his license was still yanked. Some victory. Randy Bauer |

How much is the 9-0 verdict from the Supremes worth? Judge Lafferty The 9-0 decision is worth a little, but Sloan's complaint is not going far. The additional complaints (lawsuits) Sloan inital suit generates, and the next cycle of elections, if any, are up in the air. At time like this, democracy itself will be blamed. After all, if we just got RID of these ANNYOING elections, and back to the basics of Chess, Troung would be just fine. Marcus Roberts |

Here's another one I've seen on Usenet several times, but I can't vouch for it: 24) Truong may have committed a few careless web posting improprieties, but it's OK, because he keeps Polgar in line by occasionally slapping her around, and a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do to keep the wenches in-line. |

Anyways, here's another goody floating around Usenet, Ninja, and the web: 26) Truong may be guilty of the fake Sloan and Gordon Usenet and USCF postings, but hey, he has already shown enough guts to stand up and threaten the life of a fellow board member in front of everybody during a USCF board meeting, so you'd better watch your step, he's well-connected, hint, hint [Asian mob]. |
