The following is from a post on chessdiscussion by Dougie. My comments
follow --------------------------------------------------------------- by Tennessee Vols on Wed Mar 19, 2008 2:55 pm Hal Terrie, are you that blind to see evidence that conflicts with your world view? Just cherry picking evidence that only and only supports your claims is a person that is in denial or refusing to look at other evidence. Blue Heron Biotechnology does research with cloning. Blue Heron Biotechnology uses the services with Craic Computing to validate their computer data. That validation is with data that has research dealing with cloning. Cloning, with a number of people like myself has a moral and ethical problem. The Mottershead report also used the services with Craic Computing. With one hand Craic Computing validated the Mottershead report; on the other hand Craic Computing validated research and still validates research dealing with cloning. There are countless marketing directors; there are countless other corporate agencies that would reject working with Craic Computing. This is the primary reason why Craic Computing has clients only within the field of biotechnology and without any other clients outside that field. Having the Mottershead report come from a company that deals with clients dealing with biotechnology and with the processes of cloning is not political savvy on their part. There are a number of people that finds anyone dealing with any level of cloning is immoral and unethical. Cloning is a political unwise choice to be tangled up with. The United States of American is wrestling with cloning just as with any other country. They are wrestling with the ethical and moral value of cloning of any level. There are religious groups dealing with cloning and most have a very negative view with the topic. This is why it is unsettling with the delegates and with the whole of the United States Chess Federation membership at large. The Mottershead report claims as one of its strengths with the validation from Craic Computing. Just as Blue Heron Biotechnology that deals with cloning also uses as its strengths with their validation from Craic Computing. If I accept the validation of the Mottershead report from Craic Computing then I have to also accept Craic Computing validation of other projects. With the other projects, it is the validation of date of cloning, the research that is dealing with the cloning. If I accept the Mottershead report, then I am also passively accepting cloning at any level. ----------------------------------------------------- The irony is that cloning and/or genetic manipulation might help Doug given the limited neuroplasticity possibilities for him. |

This is a truly impressive case of poor logic; I think I may use it in
a class. Jerry Spinrad On Mar 19, 4:09*pm, Brian Lafferty wrote: The following is from a post on chessdiscussion by Dougie. This is the most amazingly stupid argument I've read in a long time. Mike, this MUST be added to the 'Blind Monkey" list! |

But remember, according to Innes, while the filth of the FSS is just satire, the List of the Blind Monkey is "rubbishing" all the good-hearted, sincere souls who have a God-given right to their opinions. So, be ashamed, be very ashamed. Then give 'em a wedgie. |
