(-) quoted Sam Sloan: However, I do not believe that a person can say "I am resigning from the board" and then claim the next day that this was just an April Fools Joke. Quadibloc wrote: ... This isn't like a game of Chess, where only your opponent needs to hear you say "I resign". Chess has its rules, and so does life, but they have different rules. "samsloan" wrote in message I disagree. Then you are disagreeable. And we need some way of verifying that you are not another Fake Sam Sloan. Governor Elliott Spitzer of New York announced ... ... Senator Larry Craig who said that Irrelevant analogies. In comments on the NY Times webpage, Sam Sloan said: 3. April 2nd, 2008 "Turns out that it was an April Fools Joke, as I suspected..." Sloan "suspected" all along that it might be a joke, establishing that Sloan understands different rules apply for Chess & Life. Additionally: "There has never been a firm denial, under oath by affidavit, that Paul Truong was the Fake Sam Sloan, nor have they revealed the evidence they claim they hold that Truong did not do it. Instead, they demand the right to go on a vast fishing through more than 2,000 pages of data files, hoping to be able to claim to have found some discrepancy that casts doubt on their guilt. The board has every right to refuse this request, when they have utterly failed to cooperate in any way with the board’s investigation or the assigned counsel’s investigations into the facts." ( Sam Sloan ) If they had started their fishing expedition last November then we would be done by now. The entire USCF board needs to be replaced. All of them. I will appoint myself USCF director and assign everybody their individual sanitary stations where they may poop and flush to their heart's desires. Of course my statements on newsgroups, blogs or offical looking webpages in no way establishes that I should be the actual USCF director. Sloan's credence in webpages disconnected his own websites. In another comment, added to the NY Times weblog, Sloan admits that there is a "legal question", not a definite answer: 5. April 3rd, 2008 "Legal Question: Can She Take Back Her Resignation?" Personally, I apply a policy never to conduct business on April 1. Nevertheless, business transactions, banking and contracts are legally enforceable even if made on April 1. Yet, because I do not myself conduct business on April 1 then I will expect all others who conduct business with me to reaffirm all April 1 agreements on a subsequent day. Susan Polgar could just as well claim to have three boobs but such claim would not in fact make this true, even if not on April 1st. Addressing some extraneous remarks by the "egads flies" - Events in the Chess and Go World are certainly ON TOPIC to these newsgroups. Go Players also need to WAKE UP to the cautionary tales occurring at USCF. A lot of money, a lot of high-power Chess talent, a lot of hero-worship for a pair of boobs, a lot of ego, were adding up to management problems at USCF. Throw in the propensity to reference a Chess (Go) rating when attempting to garner some political credibility. Instead it should have been the opposite: the people with high gaming ratings have sacrificed knowledge of common good sense. While pursuing Chess (or Go) they neglected their skills at sound real-life judgment. The "competitive edge" resulted in corrosive work environments which pushed away others who might have insulated those factions. The US Declaration of Independence mentions a periodic need to dissolve the bonds of government when people no longer consent to be governed by them. Such precepts could be applied to gaming organizations as well. The newer organization would prohibit anyone with a high rating from occupying a position on the governing council. A requirement would be open books transparent finances. On the other hand, remarks from the "egads flies" are NOT on topic to these newsgroups. The fact of this needs more reinforcement by repeated reminding. Certain individuals contribute nothing: i.e. JustAnotherHomoSapiensSapiens, and bantari. Obviously they are prime candidates for USCF. - regards - jb -------------------------------------------------------------- Zionism - The Real Enemy Of The Jews http://www.informationclearinghouse....ticle19668.htm -------------------------------------------------------------- |
