Based upon his game against Laura Ross, I would say that the true
chess strength of Mig is less than 1800. His queenside expansion when
there was nothing to expand to, his lack of any reasonable plan, and
his claim that this is a line which he has played in the past, all
tell me that Mig has no clue as to chess.

Of course, one game is no basis to judge. We need to see a few more of
his games to reach an informed conclusion.

Not obvious to me. Sam has had a legit 2100 USCF rating for years. Apparently
he has played like a fish in recent events and is now (I think) mid 1900s. Mig
(who I have not a clue) has about 1800 USCF and recent 1800+ USCF perfromance.

My guess Sam 6-4 in 10 games unless the front two rows of the auidence is
stacked with leggy pre-teen blonds. I donate $2.00 US to the match fund. Who
else is in?

PS: I think that we all think that we're 200 points than our ratings. Why just
think of all the won games we lose due to silly little mistakes. Fischer
probably thought of himself as a 3112 FIDE player after beating Spaskky.

looks more like a 2000 player to me (and, given recent performance,
that is being generous).

Wrong. I have been playing tournament chess since 1956. I have had an
experts rating since 1964. If you go back and look at the old issues
of Chess Life Magazine, you will see that my average rating over the
years has been 2050-2150. The USCF Ratings website only starts in
1992.

Since 1964 my rating was always over 2000 except for one period in
1978 when I was getting divorced, until 2000 when for the first time
in 22 years my rating fell below 2000.

That still makes me a favorite to beat Mig Greengard, whose highest
ever rating is 1837.

You're forgetting that the proposition was Mig vs. Sam *playing Sam's
pet Damiano Defense*. This would be bad news for Sam even if he's
allowed to deviate from the dubious line he says he likes (1. e4 e5 2.
Nf3 f6 3. Nxe5 fxe5 4. Qh5+ Ke7 5. Qxe5+ Kf7 5. Bc4+ d5 7. Bxd5+ Kg6
8. h4 h6).
