Default It's Not the Power of Speech, Just the Power To Talk

Truong "responds" to questions from a USCF member. Please note that Mr.
Truong's claims of confidentiality are frivolous.

Paul,

I think your comments are not specific enough to translate into action.
So could you clarify:

1. What are the frivolous expenses and waste? Please be specific.

2. What is the unnecessary spending? Please be specific.

3. What would be the cost of professional marketing, promotion and
public relations? If you're referring to your own expertise which you
would donate, please describe your plans in general terms. You did have
the PR title as I recall, when Board member had a specific title.

4. What do you suggest for short and/or long term plans?

5. Did you give the EB more specific advice than this earlier? If so,
what was it?

Thanks,
David

David,

Please stop wasting time going around in circles. Either the board wants
to change or they do not. They have the 4 votes to do as they wish. What
have they done? Nothing other than cutting 8 pages in Chess Life. They
are the ones who put us in this position in the first place. They chose
to play politics instead of focusing on fixing the USCF.

I numbered your questions so it would be easier to respond:

1. Done it for the board - It includes confidential matters. I stated
this before.

2. Done it for the board - It also includes confidential matters.

3. It would cost zero. I could create an entire system for them for
nothing if they are serious about making positive changes. Otherwise, I
have far better things to do than playing their silly political games.
What would the title do if you are not allowed to do anything? I am
allowed to do what I need to do to for SPICE and the SPF and the results
speak volume. And the same people who do nothing for the USCF are still
sitting around asking what has he done, what has he done?

Chess marketing and promotion is a process. Just like chess, it requires
sound strategies, planning and perfect execution. It is just like losing
weight. You have to watch what you eat, exercise and follow a regiment.
The problem for the USCF is there is no vision or long term anything. So
many people are putting their personal agenda and politics before the
best interest of the USCF. You want me to come in a turn everything
around in 2 seconds? I did not make things happen for SPICE or the SPF
overnight either. It took weeks of careful planning and well thought out
strategies and months to execute the plans and strategies.

4. I just answered this same question in my previous post. To succeed in
turning things around, the board majority must take the following actions:

- Cut frivolous expenses and waste immediately (Short term).
- Freeze all unnecessary spending immediately (Short term).
- Stop the destructive political games and shift the focus to
professional marketing, promotion and public relation immediately (Short
and long term).
- All board members should help the USCF by utilizing their expertise
and experience instead of interfering in areas which they have no
success, experience or knowledge (Short and long term).
- Create short and long term plans and goals. Short term plans and goals
should be to help the USCF get out of this financial crisis immediately.
The long term plans and goals should be to make sure that we build the
USCF into a respected, viable and profitable organization. We, as an
organization, need to be fiscally responsible.

5. Yes. It was told to the board numerous times since last year. They
are more interested something else than improving these areas.
