Bruce Draney writes: Let me just go over this one more time. Although it sounds like I'm blasting Bill (which I probably am for a multitude of these informational issues), I'm really angry at USCF's lack of simple courtesy when it comes to making things a level playing field. Why can USCF not: a) Make 6 or 7 phone calls to the candidates immediately after the count is completed? b) Have an official spokesman announce the results by e-mailing the 6 or 7 candidates so they hear it from USCF first? c) Have our own website get information up quickly? d) Have someone, in USCF,(one of the many anonymice out there) officially post to rgcp. The USCF should go to a metro district model. That will increase membership enough that the election returns will be broadcast nationwide on live TV. Then there won't be need of such phone calls. Yeah, that's the ticket. ![]() Just click the ruby slippers together and say, "mensa, mensa, mensa" and all the money needed to capitalize chess in your area will suddenly materialize. "Look daddy. Teacher says, evertime he says "mensa", an angel gets its wings." Best Regards, Bruce |

Utter garbage. Your phrase "it is well known that" proves about as much as the "everybody knows that..." that Sam likes to use at Delegates meetings. How often has the average organizer visited the USCF office? How often have you? I think I have been there 5 or 6 times, including twice this year. However, that's not very relevant, as I live 1300 miles away. How often have other organizers who live in the Hudson Valley or even the NY/NJ/PA region visited the USCF offices? What would be an all-day wrestle with the airlines for me is a 30 minute drive, at best, for Bill. -- Mike Nolan |

How often have other organizers who live in the Hudson Valley or even
the NY/NJ/PA region visited the USCF offices? Once, and it was only on business for ICC. John Fernandez |

... It's a 15 minute drive. Nevertheless, I visit the office no more than twice a month on the average. One visit most months is to the Chess Life building only, where I bring my display ads. On occasion I also visit to meet with the ED (one day this year), for a PB meeting (two days this year), or to bring a rating report (two or three days this year). Bill Goichberg I realize this seems like a small amount ... to Bill.... but to any normal organizer its huge. |
