Default Sam's 2000 missing votes.

There just has to be a reason why Sam Sloan did not defeat Tim Hanke.
Everyone knows that people prefer Sam to Tim. This leads us to the
conclusion that there are at least 1,700 votes somewhere that did not
get counted for Sam. This is the only possible explanation for Sam's
defeat, that and the fact that the entire country had an organized and
systematic campaign organized by the New York Taxi and Limousine
Commission to destroy him.

Here are the top ten theories on where the 1,700 votes a

a) They are bundled in boxes in the New Windsor trailer.
b) They were sent to Richard Haas' metro district in Florida.
c) They were co-opted by his evil brother Creighton to destroy
him.
d) They were co-opted by the Roberts to destroy him.
e) They were co-opted by Jerry Falwell to destroy him.
f) They were co-opted by George John to destroy him.
g) They were accidently deposited in a Nigerian bank account.
h) Seventeen hundred of them were cast by the missing Nevada
players and are in Tom Klem's footlocker in Vegas.
i) They were stolen by the Rank End Fool Committee.
j) They were sent to Ken Sloan by mistake and destroyed.

Other theories that bear further investigation are that Kayo got mad at
him and burned them, Patricia Harris of Florida destroyed them, or
possibly they were destroyed in a fire in New Windsor caused by a short
out in the mother board of TRS 80 computer. Authorities have dismissed
the possibility that the Libertarian Party has them or that Judge Turk
is holding them to get even with Sloan. His ex-girlfriend Passion
couldn't be found, so most of the authorities don't believe she's
involved.

Bruce

I understand they were actually put into a knapsack that was later given to
D.B.Cooper.

Where do you get the number 2000 from?

Hanke finished 233 votes ahead of me. Hanke received 886 votes. I got
653 votes.

So the correct number is 200, not 2000.

Of course, nobody campaigned against Hanke. Bill Goichberg, who
campaigned hard to stop me from being elected, certainly preferred me
to Hanke, but he never thought that Hanke would win.

I think Bill Goichberg should be able to speak for himself on whether he
preferred you to Tim Hanke.

No sane person, knowing your history, would prefer you to anyone else.

Goichberg's website had a page with his recommendations on each
candidate. Here's the summary information (the individual sections are
lengthy so I won't cut and paste them here):

"Tim Hanke wants to lower adult dues, a clear money loser for USCF at a
time of financial crisis, and appears to support separating scholastic
from adult chess. Either one of these positions by itself is sufficient
to rule out my support for him.

Sam Sloan also supports the ridiculous idea of lowering adult dues.
Otherwise, I probably agree with his positions on most issues. However,
it is inappropriate for USCF to have a Board member who attacks so many
people on the internet and is so careless with his facts."

Doesn't sound to me like he "campagined hard", but he didn't support you
or Tim...
