Default Peterson Lawsuit

The lawsuit is a public document filed in the State Courts of
California, so none of my limited knowledge on the suit is
confidential. Although I have not had an opportunity to read the
suit, it is my general understanding that one of the many counts of
the complaint is that Peterson's USCF affiliate was allegedly denied
certain so-called contractual rights to receive mailing labels, have
TLA's listed, etc.... for a CEA Grand National Scholastic Chess
Championship, which turned out to be a financial failure, only able to
pay out a fraction of the advertised $60,000 in US Savings Bond
"scholarships" (based on 1000 players). This case shall be
interesting as discovery will necessarily open all of CEA's finances
to see what profits it had and what profits it reported on past
tournaments to compare to its alleged lost profits in this case.

I think John Fernandez summed it
best: Scumbag

You are a brave man... at a very great distance.
Any time you would care to take it up with me in person, go for it.

Who wants to have anything to do with a lowelife like you? Chances are
that the moment I will look funny at you I would be served with papers...

I think the years of reading posts about you and talking to reputable
people to learn who you are speak for themselves as this 'invitation to
a dual'. You are a hopeless idiot, who needs to marry less wives and
make less children and learn to take responsibility, to think you
sometimes work with teaching children simply makes me sigh. It is about
time someone tell you flat out on this forum that you're not fooling anyone.

Drop the lawsuit freak,
Aviv

Careful what you wish for Richard.

Aviv is a globetrotter, travels the world.

And he's quite a bit bigger than you.

I can attest to that!

I'd still make Richard a -280 favorite, however.

Not that anyone should ever solve anything over the board, of course....sheesh.

So after he sits on you what's your plan?

This would make one of those mound-charging baseball fights look theoretically
important.

How much would they want so that I don't get to see it?

A Richard Peterson event that turned into a flop?!
Noooooooooo? Really!?
You mean another failure? So that is why he is
suing... Yes, once again it was the fault of
someone else. A genuine professional victim,
the Biblical JOB of the chess world. I think
John Fernandez summed it best: Scumbag

Well then, this should be a slam-dunk for USCF. The event violated
USCF rules. USCF was well-within its rights to not advertise it.

As for discovery, that should be fascinating, as you said. Peterson
has been asked on the newsgroup for the financials of CEA. Do you
think he provides them?

The business agreements between CalChess, CEA, and possible other
third parties might be interesting reading as well. Who else in
USCF-land has a hand in Peterson's cookie-jar?

__________________________
When it comes to litigtion, there are far fewer "slam dunks" than you
would think. I agree that the suit sounds weak on the surface, but
won't make further judgment until I read the actual complaint in a few
days.
