GM play from the 1980s has been refuted by computers available to 1400
players today. Are there any recent results of hers that would yield anything resembling a performance rating? |

Not but a few years ago (2004), she helped the US Women's Olympiad team to a
silver medal, going undefeated and winning the individual Gold (see her Wiki). She is undefeated, actually, in 56(!) games in the Olympiads. Remember - it isn't so much that the GM play is available to 1400s but that 1400s don't play like GMs. 1400s would never manage to achieve the positions from which the computers have refuted the GM play, and probably would never find the refutations even if they got to the positions. It's a general comment you make - but GMs from the 1980s are using technology now to compete at reasonable levels. Beliavsky hasn't just faded away, and when Korchnoi is on his game, he is every bit of 2600 strength. One can tell by Kasparov's analyses on Playchess that he certainly could still compete at the highest levels. And we certainly can't forget GM Maya Chiburdanidze's recent Olympic success. Maya (now spelled Maia) is also still a perennial World Championship candidate. I'm waiting for Nona Gaprandishvili's comeback tour! Chuck "RayGordon" wrote in message ... The last competitive event that Susan Polgar played in, at standard
time controls, where she did not get to choose which opponents she played against, was the 2005 US Amateur Team East. http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain....13881-12452240 In that event, Susan scored a performance rating of 2153. However, it seems that she was having a bad tournament. She is probably better than that. Sam Sloan |

She couldn't 'choose', she had to play all. In June she played in the 2009 NATIONAL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. She only played one game. Strange. In any case she is probably 3 times as strong as anyone who posts on here regularly. |

At least one of the players has since revealed that they were made to understand not to beat her. The one game she played at the National Open was against Fred Gruenberg, organizer of the event. It is unknown why she played that game as neither of them played any other games. Very suspicious. Sam Sloan |

Why would he travel all the way to Vegas to play only one game? Is he a lawyer or something involved in the USCF/Polgar/Sloan law suits? |

The person she played is the organizer and owner of the tournament. He also owns a share in the casino where the tournament is played. He is a Big Time Operator. However, I do not know why they played this one game, that was really not part of the event. Sam sloan |
