So, which is it? Did the USCF throw the bum out or not?

Is this just another attempt to take advantage of Fischer's fame and
personna, and kick sand in his face all at the same time?

Didn't I read a recent Chess Life response from the editors and it
criticized Fischer about the Anti-United States comments? And now he's on
the cover? Does seem kind of strange.

Well, when you think about it, putting a thirty year old picture of Fischer
[himself] on the cover of Chess Lies, probably doesn't enhance his mood
these days.

As I look more closely at the cover photo, it looks like it's a group photo of
some of the the U.S. team members taken at the 1966 Olympiad in Havanna, Cuba.
Pictured are (from left to right) R. Byrne, Benko, Fischer and Rossolimo (first
alternate). Missing from the photo are fellow team members Larry Evans and Bill
Addison (second alternate) as well as team captain Donald Byrne.
