Huh? Am I confused or are you saying Diane quit?

Last week I had a GM in my car on a cell phone, trying to confirm his
participation on the Olympiad team, and his info was that no one was confirmed
-- and it was all supposed to be done 7/30. I was actually on my cell on a
business call while he was on his...so maybe I've got this story slightly
wrong...can anyone confirm what's happening here?

That assumes specifics such as that would have been readily ascertainable
before she quit, doesn't it?

I understand Joan is going to serve as the on-site coordinator in place
of Diane Reese. Bill will be there, of course, along with Barb Vandemark
and CFO Ken Thomas. Judy's not going, nor is Glenn. Pehme will be
there for Fri-Sun.

I have also heard that Alan Kantor and Steve Immitt will be on the
TD staff in Florida.

Two days before the start, the tournament has 304 advance entrants (with one
withdrawal) posted on the USCF Website. Needed will be lots of door entries
for the event to crack "450 or so by the time the clocks start."
