400 chess enthusiasts are expected to compete."

Aside from Board member Tim Hanke, none of the Massachussetts Delegates
are expected to attend the Delegates Meetings.

That is correct, but Massachusetts will be represented by Natasha C.
Christiansen, wife of GM Larry Christiansen, at the Delegates Meeting. She
asked me at the Continental Open in Sturbridge, Mass., whether she could be
credentialed as a delegate at the annual meeting. I told her: certainly! And I
informed the New Windsor office right away to communicate to the Executive
Board, especially to the acting secretary, that Ms. Christiansen will be there
as a Mass. delegate.

I suspect the Open will have 450 or so by the time the clocks start. I am
now curious as to how much the Open's cost us in travel, staff time,
promotion, and whatever.
