I think Old Hassie's hot air is fueling Hurricane Charlie and drawing
it straight towards the Sarasota/Tampa area. Fully expecting he will
not stop, the forecasters are predicting Charlie to be a Category 3 by
the time it hits West Florida. But, if we get enough of those Mensa
Metro Model $10 bills, we can rebuild.

Well, if Charlie hits Tampa Bay it won't do any damage to organized
chess... because there isn't much organized chess in Tampa Bay. Of course, if
you had a funded Metro District in Tampa Bay you'd have something to protect.

Old Haasie

The first feeder band from Charlie swept into Sarasota at 3:44 am while I
was in the midst of an ICC game. I got a draw and scampered off to batten down
the hatches.
Charlie could become a category 4 by the time the eye hits Anna Maria island
just to the north of me.
Old Haasie has a good supply of butter pecan on hand and is guarding it from
looters and scholastic chess kiddies.
