I have that book!

The Keres chapter alone is one of the best ever written: "Inside the secret
workshop of a grandmaster."

That book more than any other helped me acquire my opening strength. I
cherish it.

I had the pleasure of doing the (German to English) translation of the Keres
chapter for RHM Publications. Hochberg commissioned me to do it.

Sehr schoen, George!

I also want to compliment George on his very professional review of Yalom's
Chess Queen book published on ChessCafe; I suggest comparing it to the piece of
trash that appeared in CL.

A reader asked if there is a list of chess terms akin to Ambrose Bierce's
DEVIL'S DICTIONARY. These following wry bits of levity were culled from Eliot
Hearst's old column in Chess Life and reprinted in my book CHESS CATECHISM.

Sample definition:

WHITE: Since recent Supreme Court decisions, not so big an advantage as
it once was.
