Gerald Ford, The Greatest President Who Ever Lived by

Gerald Ford, The Greatest President Who Ever Lived
I have been watching with a combination of amusement and disgust the
gaudy display that his been going on during the past few days, where
speaker after speaker has described Gerald Ford in the most laudatory
terms imaginable.
One would imagine that Gerald Ford was the greatest president who ever
lived, and possibly the greatest man in the...

How can I become a US chess professional ?? by
Zero
I read an article in Chess Life discussed how all the russian players
that immigrated to the US during the 70s and 80s changed tournaments
and how they play chess to make a living.
I think that this sounds really interesting and the benefits are
wonderful. I would just have to play a tournament each weekend with
either a 2-day or 3-day schedule and then I also get Monday through
Thursday off. ...

Appointment By Grant Perks of Herbert Vaughn as Alternate Delegate for Ohio by
samsloan
To the By-Laws Committee:
Here is the email from Grant Perks to Patricia Knight which was deemed
to be sufficient by Pat Knight to appoint Herbert Vaughn, Bill Brock,
Paul Truong and Jeff Smith as alternate delegates from the State of
Ohio.
I believe that this email was insufficient for this purpose and that
they were not validly appointed for a variety of reasons, including the
fact that the...

Irony of Susan's Complaint by
samsloan
Last year, Susan Polgar complained on her Blog that there were too many
players in the US Championship and that the prizes were too small.
If you search, you can still find her complaints unless she has deleted
them.
Now, by contrast, she has come out against "chess politicians" who
attack "sponsors".
Here is a quote from Susan Polgar's current Blog on the 2007 US

Why does Mike Nolan keep showing up in the background by
marcus@stkittsnevischess.org
Why does this small little clique of people govern the funds of so
many? OMOV, the preomov, it doesn't matter. WHY IS MIKE NOLAN always
showing up in the background with any sort of USCF complaint. Why is
MIKE NOLAN keeping me off the USCF web site.
I can't direct a chess tournament, and nobody will tell me why.

Why does Mike Nolan defend Polgar? by
samsloan
That's a complete fabrication of what happened, Sam.
Don, Beatriz, Tim and I were there on Monday, we all went out to dinner
at a local Italian restaurant. (Al Lawrence was at that dinner, too.)
Paul and Susan didn't get there until some time around noon on Tuesday.

Possible Chicago Bid to Hold the 2007 US Championship by

Possible Chicago Bid to Hold the 2007 US Championship
In the first place, I have the contract that was signed in 2000 with
Erik Anderson. It is sitting right here on my desk. The reason I have
it is that I demanded to see it the first thing I did when I got on the
board in August, 2006. They told me that it had been lost but finally
in late-September (after I kept making a big stink about it,...

It's after midnight and no proposal from the AF4C. That means that
they're out and I will entertain bids from interested parties. We don't
need any stinking AF4C or Erik Anderson. Larry Cohen is my answer.

I think that thread got deleted because the Moderator who did it didn't
know how to just move a thread to the hidden areas. (I was on the road

Ben Finegold letter on the US Championship by

At 10:52 PM 12/29/2006 -0800, Ben Finegold wrote:
Hi everyone.
I am quite opinionated about this issue, but, since I will not (did not)
qualify to play in 2007, I would hope the players who did already qualify
and want to play have more say than I do.
Suffice to say, if I was eligible to play in 2007 (let's assume I
qualified somehow) then I would still not play if any games are...

The best board by
samsloan
Actually, the current board is one of the best, if not the best, in the
recent history of the USCF. It's because I'm on it.
In this board, there are no factions. In every previous board for a
number of years there was a gang-of-four which took over and ran the
USCF to the exclusion of the other three board members.
However, no such gang exists on the current board. It was thought that
Joel...

Susan Polgar, a THREAT to chidlren by
marcus@stkittsnevischess.org
Susan Poglar, a role model just as dangerous as Sam Sloan
Susan Polgar is not a business woman. Susan Polgar is not a successful
woman. Susan Polgar is a chess player who wants to be in a CLIQUE. The
problem with Polgar is that according to Tim Redman, TOO OFF ALL OF HER
CLOTHES to take a FIDE DRUG TEST.
Susan wants to have children STRIP NAKED for drug tests, and I will
make sure that her...
