Could USCF Steal The World Title Match? by
Ray Gordon
Since there are NO sponsors for the event, why not see if we can pull a
"coup" and host the matches ourselves?
Maybe even cut FIDE out of the mix permanently. Or maybe the AF4C can do
it.

Would anybody be willing to help finance my trip to Italy? by
Sam Sloan
Would anybody be willing to help finance my trip to Italy?
The World Chess Olympiad and FIDE Congress will be held in Turin,
Italy May 20 to June 4, 2006.
In years past, I have regularly attended these events, usually writing
newspaper and magazine articles which were published in the local
press.
Always in the past, I have paid my own way, completely with my own

Straw Poll - Bedding for an Old Cow by
ron_suarez_chess@yahoo.com
I just checked the latest at the Chessville Straw Poll.
With 213 votes in, the Yes vote to keep the Larry Evans column is
losing by 2 votes with 9 people voting to abstain on the vote.
Those that feel the column should be kept, Phil Innes and jr, keep
making accusations that their arch nemeses are padding the vote on this
poll in opposition of the columns retention. The opposing side also
has...

Beatriz supports the right party by
Stan Booz
Beatriz is a strong woman who's willing to stand up against Goichberg,
Schultz and Channing. She's also willing to stand up against Bessel Kok
and support Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. She's entitled to change her mind and
negotiate the best deal. It's a free country. She should be praised for
the decision to support FIDE and she should be the FIDE General
Secretary.

OPEN LETTER TO PROPOSAL BY MR IGNATIUS LEONG
Dear Mr Leong,
I have studied your open letter and your attempt to propose some form
of compromise. The Right Move Team and its supporting Federations have
some obvious concerns with this particular form of compromise which

FIDE ELECTION - My OPEN LETTER
AN OPEN LETTER
Dear Chess Friends,
As someone involved in FIDE governance for over 30 years I would like
to pass along some observations regarding the recent election-related

Why the USA Delegation is upset by the Defection of Beatriz by

Ms. Marinello sounds very reasonable to me, on this issue. It is one thing

There is nothing reasonable about it.

THE WRATH OF KEENE
By GM Ray Keene
In discussing the Panov-Botvinnik attack I had earlier pointed out it
was just another opening system whose name had been hijacked by the
Soviets. I joked that it was rather like the Russian commander Pavel
Chekhov in Star Trek who claims everything is "invented in moscow." Of
course the ratpackers are so desperate to prove me wrong on any trivial
little...

Another Amazing Statement by Beatriz Marinello by
Sam Sloan
Another amazing statement by Beatriz Marinello. Here are some tidbits:
"the situation in FIDE is improving.". The Situation in FIDE has been
on a downhill slope ever since 1995 when Kirsan became President of
FIDE. You think if there is a slight upturn (none is apparent) that
makes everything OK.
"affirmations of corruption". It is an established fact that Kirsan
Ilyumzhinov was in Baghdad with...

Marinello, representation, and blood on Fide's tracks by
Chess One
At the last USCF Board meeting, the emotions run high.
I would like to request to the board and the USCF members to respect
and accept my position of neutrality. The USA is a free country, many
of us came here to escape from repression and undemocratic regimes. I
grow up in a dictatorship, I never had a chance to vote until I became
US Citizen in the year 2000. I am loyal...

Evans says name the date! by
parrthenon@cs.com
EVANS AGREES TO PLAY BAUER!
"Four games in Reno with Randy Bauer for $2250. Name the date,"
said Larry Evans.
Evans-Bauer would be a fine Grudgebowl. True,
GM Evans has never vouchsafed to reply to Randy
Bauer. But the reason is evident enough: GM Evans
treats NM Bauer as he would a flea.

Questions about the US Delegation to FIDE Meetings by
Sam Sloan
Questions about the US Delegation to FIDE Meetings
1. Will the USCF pay for Beatriz Marinello's travel to Italy and her
accommodations? Have they already reimbursed her for her air fare?
What money was spent in 2004 on Ms, Marinello's visit to the Calvia
Olympiad and for other USCF representatives. This is a fundamental
question as the men's team took a $2000 pay cut per player. Was the
famous...
