open response to Beatriz marinello by chessdon
My comments are in green, Don Schultz Beatriz Marinello apparently made the following statements on the Internet. If I have wrong information and she did not, please discount my comments.: BM: 1. Yes, I am running for the FIDE Americas General Secretary's position. Its also important to mention that I have been performing

Jason Reba by ArloPayne@gmail.com
So what's the deal with this guy? He's been over at Rec.Gambling.Poker acting rather hostile so I traced him back here where he seems to be well known. Can anybody provide other usenet screen names he has used in the past so I can see his behavior from years past? Any links to any real pictures of him? (I read someone has some from chess events). (OK, Jason, you're up. Let me have it!)

Response to Beatriz by chessdon
Beatriz posted on the USCF web site : 2. I did not threat the board in any way, I just mentioned that they were burning all the bridges and I would not be surprised if the USCF loses all meaningful positions in FIDE, including Bill Kalleher's position in the Executive Board, as a result of this board's actions. Everything was recorder. My answer: DS: I disagree with Beatriz's recollection,...

Chess must be banned! by parrthenon@cs.com
One can only make so much betting "long" on posters like Parr, Innes, and the Nutty Professor, before the well (of money) dries up. -- Help Bot See ADDICTED TO CHESS December 6, 2004 http://wcn.tentonhammer.com/print.php?sid=98 "I love chess. Is Evans poll down? by parrthenon@cs.com
CAN'T FIND THE LINK I thought this straw vote was a bad idea from the start and I said so because it lacked safeguards against ballot stuffing. Indeed, it soon became evident that Neil Brennen and a small band of Evans-haters were engaging in these sleazy tactics. "Vote early and vote often" was their motto. Nonetheless, at last count GM Evans was leading 154-139 with 10 abstentions -- not that...

Can Beatriz Marinello be trusted? by samsloan
She's known to lie. She's known to cheat the USCF out of money. She's known to deceive people for a green card. She's known to turn her back from her supporters. Can anyone trust her again?

Larry in bed with Kirsan? by Don Aldrich
So our resident curmudgeon has flailed incessantly about the evils of the Ilyumzhinov administration from murder to drug testing. Now his glorious leader Dato’ Tan Chin Nam has written an 'Open Letter' praising this 'murderous thug' and suggesting a 'joint presidency' with Kok. http://wcn.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=705&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0] That's...

This is really a rigged poll if it does not give you a chance to vote. by pete johnson
when I went to the URL, it responded with a screen of "Thank You", and did not give me a chance to vote "yes" or "no". did I vote against gm Evans by going to the URL? that was not my intention. How do I vote yes? This is really a rigged poll if it does not give you a chance to vote. Pete Johnson. "Chess One" wrote in message news:3NO9g.1146$a23.523@trndny01...

Could USCF Steal The World Title Match? by Ray Gordon
Since there are NO sponsors for the event, why not see if we can pull a "coup" and host the matches ourselves? Maybe even cut FIDE out of the mix permanently. Or maybe the AF4C can do it. -- "Google maintains the USENET." -- The Honorable R. Barclay Surrick, Eastern District of PA Judge From Parker v. Google, E.D.Pa. #04-cv-3918

Would anybody be willing to help finance my trip to Italy? by Sam Sloan
Would anybody be willing to help finance my trip to Italy? The World Chess Olympiad and FIDE Congress will be held in Turin, Italy May 20 to June 4, 2006. In years past, I have regularly attended these events, usually writing newspaper and magazine articles which were published in the local press. Always in the past, I have paid my own way, completely with my own

Straw Poll - Bedding for an Old Cow by ron_suarez_chess@yahoo.com
I just checked the latest at the Chessville Straw Poll. With 213 votes in, the Yes vote to keep the Larry Evans column is losing by 2 votes with 9 people voting to abstain on the vote. Those that feel the column should be kept, Phil Innes and jr, keep making accusations that their arch nemeses are padding the vote on this poll in opposition of the columns retention. The opposing side also has...

Beatriz supports the right party by Stan Booz
Beatriz is a strong woman who's willing to stand up against Goichberg, Schultz and Channing. She's also willing to stand up against Bessel Kok and support Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. She's entitled to change her mind and negotiate the best deal. It's a free country. She should be praised for the decision to support FIDE and she should be the FIDE General Secretary.
