US Representatives to FIDE by
JimEade
An enormous amount of negative material has been written about the US
representatives to FIDE. The names of the people have changed over time, but
the criticisms have generally remained the same. Whether it was Steve Doyle,
Tim Redman, Don Schultz, Fan Adams, Arnold Denker, or Bill Kelleher, they were
said to have bowed and scraped for the approval of the Presidential Board (PB).
Of course,...

Diane Reese...You did it again! by
Chess in Chicago
Diane Reese, with over 2,000 players, managed a great scholastic tourney
this past weekend in Rosemont, IL. She fixed many problems and kept her
cool. I would like to personally thank her for your special attention to a
few problems kids I had there encountered. Keep up the great work. Between
her and Judy Misner, the USCF is looking good lately.

I am calling Matt Nemmers - - he should leave! by
Rolf Tueschen
Matt Nemmers is a dirty crook who should leave usenet at the instant.
Matt Nemmers has insuated that Sam Sloan had written on his webpages that he
had had sex with under-aged Tahi girls. Then I took Matt Nemmers to task and
asked him for the exact link. That was three or four days ago. Since Matt
Nemmers appeared again with other postings but didn't react on my challenge he
is guilty of...

Wikipedia Biography of Tom Dorsch by
Sam Sloan
Tom Dorsch
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Jump to: navigation, search
Tom Dorsch (b. 1942 in Nebraska) is a chess master and a chess
politician. Because of his involvement in many controversies, there is
little agreement about him, and many will disagree with this
biography, but he is definitely worthy of a Wikipedia, so here is a
start. Those who disagree are welcome to edit.

Goichberg conflict of interest thing by
Jerry
I know it appears to be SOP that if you disagree with anything the EB
has done lately you are obviously in the Goichberg-Schultz cheerleading
section. That is ridiculous, but I won't go into that.
One topic I see continually come up is the issue of conflict of
interest regarding Goichberg and the CCA. I understand where people are
coming from.
I also see that people think he doesn't want the...

Fear in the USCF (and Chess marketplace) by
Tom Klem
For years, I have watched as Goichberg dismembered this one or that one. Not
that his marketing and execution of business planning wasn't brilliant (why
I originally admired him), but there was a darker side that no one was
talking about when it came to Goichberg.
Now mind you, my frame of reference begins in the summer of 1993, when I
decided that I had better do something about Chess as I had...

OT: Hold 'em book recommendation? by
klgore@mailinator.com
Hey Lance,
You've mentioned some Texas Hold 'em books here before and I've
forgotten the details. Would you be so kind as to point me in a
good direction? My nephew is quite into poker these days and a
good book seems like an appropriate gift.

Candidates by

For anyone to act that Mr. Bauer's candidacy should be invalidated
for his method of payment is absurd. Frankly I'm tired of hearing of it
and wish that people would stop wasting time and giving the accusors
the responses that they so clearly don't deserve.

Tim Hanke vs. The Freedom Fighters by

By now, Tim Hanke should be happily in a fox hole over in Iraq,
shooting it out with the Freedom Fighters.
On Jan 29 at 8:34 pm, under "USCF Governance" Tim Hanke wrote:
