Told you so! by

A couple of recent droppings from the smelly Parrot cage at ChessVile.
They continue the policy of attacking the Marinello presidency and
praising the Dream Team:

"The proverbial Winds of Change may be about to sweep through USCF
Headquarters, as the elections appear to have put into office Bill

Question for Phil Innes by
The Historian
I would like Mr. Innes to
explain, in English if he is able, and with the help of a translator if
he is not, why he stated the following in a Shakespeare newsgroup:
"My qualifications for saying so is that I was nearly an
international
master, with a rating of 2450, which is a tolerably qualified level to
offer
an opinion - for example, , who used to post here before
splitting, so to

B&E Contract - Chess Cafe by
irvin
According to the USCF's financial statement:

(page 13)
~~~~~~~~~~~
The Federation now has an agreement with Chess Cafe, an unrelated entity, to
process all retail sales. The Federation will receive a yearly comission of
13.5% on sales up to $2,000,000.00 and 15% on sales in excess...
Chess HQ going forward by
RSHaas@aol.com
Now that Hanke and Marinello have resigned from the USCF Board the
federation will fall into the hands of the most conventional thinkers.
We can expect a whole lot of nuttin' much to happen in the near to
mid-term future. There will most likely be some cosmetic diddling with
Chess Life and maybe some dinking around with the web site, but not
much else.
The most interesting possibility might be...
GRUDGE MATCH #2 by
Duncan Oxley
Let's have another grudge match.
Phil Innes and Neil Brennen - Knight odds as suggested.
You will play on ICC. I'll supply the ICC accounts.
You two will *each* need to get a current USCF
TD to procter. (Local level or higher. I *must* have
knowledge of this TD and agree to him or her). It WILL
be USCF rated.
Tim Hanke resigns from USCF Executive Board by
Mike Nolan
Tim Hanke has submitted his resignation from the USCF Executive Board.
Under current USCF Bylaws, the Executive Board has the option to decide
whether or not to call for a special election, as well as to set the
timing for such an election. When there are two or more vacancies,
a special election is required, though the Board still sets the timing
for it.
A provision for the Delegates to elect...
Goran's music career! by
Niemand
"When I was young I often listened country music. My favourite song
was "Hunging tree". -- Goran Tomic, 8 August 2005
Goran's too modest to mention it, but he had quite an impressive
music career of his own. To see one of his best videos, go to:
Enjoy!
Parr's Distorted Dictionary by
Taylor Kingston
In another thread, wrote:
Taylor Kingston will defendhis new-found ally Mr. Brennen because
he must. His ego can't take any more flak just now.
Sorry, Larry, my ego is doing just fine, though I humbly concede that
it has failed to rival your own towering edifice.
In Parr's Distorted Dictionary, definitions depend first and foremost
on whether the person being...
Interesting match: Brennen-Masked Bishop-Taylor Kingstonnke by
Goran Tomic
"Goran Tomic" wrote in message
...
It would be interesting to organise match with only tree paricipants: Neil
Brennen (The Hysterian), the Masked Bishop (The Coward), and Mr Taylor
Kingston.
Who would be the winner?
Maybe somebody whose friend is one KGB spy, strong chess player?
Did Harry Sabine abstain on the LMA Committee vote to move to Crossville? by
Sam Sloan
I just noticed that Harry Sabine is a member of the LMA Committee.
A vote of the LMA Committee was required to use USCF Funds to build a
new building in Crossville.
Yet, Harry Sabine has also been representing the City of Crossville in
negotiations with the USCF.
Obviously, there is a conflict of interest and Harry Sabine is
required to disqualify himself from voting on the move.
Grant Perks Fired !!! by
Sam Sloan
Grant Perks, the CFO of the USCF, has been fired.
The firing took place just three days before the ballot count, with
Beatriz Marinello, Elizabeth Shaughnessy and Steve Shutt voting to
fire Grant Perks and Don Schultz voting against.
Randy Bauer and Tim Hanke were out of contact and did not participate
in the vote.
The reason for firing Grant Perks is unknown.
Thank God! by
chessdon
I have just received word that the land provision stated in the
auditor's report has been incorrectly worded and that the land will
fully revert to USCF after the building is complete. As I previously
said the leaders of Crossville are triple A class people and I could
not equate that to what would have amounted to outright deception.
What bothers me is that some very smart people here seemed to...
Mr Brennen and chessnocide by
Goran Tomic
In my opinion Mr. Brennen's "discussion" repelled many potential chess
players from the chess. Because children who read these posts could think
that all chess players use ugly words and make vandalism (sorry from this
word, but Wikipedia named Mr Brenen vandal because false nickname and false
posts he used on it, Mr Kingston supported him in that vandalisnm).
So, it could be introduced new word,...
Needed Additions to George John's List by
Sam Sloan
In other threads, George John has been creating a list of types of
people who should not be allowed to run for or serve on the USCF
Executive Board.
Of course, this is a matter of principle, according to George John.
For example, George John wishes to exclude those who organize chess
tournaments for profit, such as Bill Goichberg, while allowing those
who lose money on the chess tournaments they...
A Grudge Match Proposal: Marinello - Goichberg by
This seems to have all the elements for a good grudge match. The individuals
dislike each other, both are strong players, and there have been doubts cast by
some as to whether the players deserve their ratings.
Request for the USCF by
irvin
Now that (apparently) the auditing firm has amended its financial report to
correct the "land doesn't belong to the USCF" part, it would be a good idea
to post the most recent version. Doing this would go a long way towards
showing that this is not just a rumor and will also provide some redemption
for the auditing firm's stained reputation (yes, that was a serious
mistake - if it was a mistake,...
Crossville makes headlines by
parrthenon@cs.com
Meth labs, a toxic threat to rural America. One small town grapples
with scourge of addiction.
"Along a country road on the Cumblerand Plateau"
begins a NBC story, and one suddenly realizes that the
story is about Cross-to-Bear, a.k.a Crossville.
There is a sheriff with the wonderful name of
Butch Burgess -- looks just like Rod Steiger from In
the Heat of the Night -- and there is the good...
