USCF Elections: Sloan beats Success Team in Virgin Islands by Sam Sloan
Sloan beats Success Team in Virgin Islands Proving that a virgin cannot even win in the Virgin Islands, Sloan easily defeated that professional virgin chess politico George John in the Virgin Islands vote. However, one member of the Success Team, Elizabeth Shaughnessy, was able to equal Sloan's vote in the Virgin Islands, but this was because she is not a virgin either! All of the other members...

USCF Executive Board Recall ADM 05-24 by George John
The topic is ADM 05-24 (for the full text see http://www.uschess.org/govern/2005DelegatesCall.pt1.pdf, page 16). The very good news is the USCF Bylaws may get a recall provision for Executive Board members, which it currently does not have. The potential bad news is that the bar for the Voting Members to start a recall may be set too high, and that's what I would like to discuss. I quote:

Shame on the politicians by Chess Politics
Your chess politicians have been behaving very badly. They bicker with each other like a bunch of spoiled children. It is a total embarrassment. The world is laughing at your organization. It is quite pathetic for President Marinello to act so foolishly. How could you Yanks vote for someone like that? To make matters worst, you made her the COO and acting ED. It is equally bad for Mr. Dubeck to...

Fine, I'm filing civil rights/ADA complaints by Ray Gordon
The legal theory is "equal access to the disabled." A chess tournament run by a sanctioning body allows a "kibitz log" to be posted which contains defamatory information about me, and statements that the defamation was motivated by a perception of mental disability. Members of the board of directors of said sanctioning body were among the sponsors of the tournament. State organizers...

SAM SLOAN WINS! by Sammy Sloan IV
It is with great honor, pride, and joy that I announce that my Dad, SAM SLOAN, has won! He has more than double the votes of the next closest competitor, and his victory is already assured. I got this information from a reliable source that heard Beatriz arguing violently with the CPA firm that is counting the votes. She wanted my Dad's votes tossed out and disqualified. Apparently she...

Success Team Skipping Town? by Sam Sloan
Success Team Skipping Town? It has been noticed that the so-called Success Team has dropped out of sight and disappeared from the Internet. Tim Hanke, USCF Vice-President of Finance, has not been seen or heard from since February 12. Under the by-laws, Hanke is required to sign-off on any expense money that has been taken by Beatriz Maerinello, the President. Since February 12, Beatriz...

Zsuzsa Polgar is on the Cover of Parade Magazine for July 17, 2005 Run to the news-stands quick. The picture of Susan Polgar is on the cover of Parade Magazine right now. Parade is a weekly insert that is carried in the Sunday editions of newspapers around the country. In New York City, it is carried in the New York Post and Newsday. More Nonsense from Alekhine's Parrot by The Historian
Another example of the political bias Mr. Innes delights in, taken from his "Alekhine's Parrot" twaddle at ChessVile. "Don Schultz asks for a release of information, that the details of the deal be made public, and in response the Board President, Executive Director, and whatever else she is these days, Beatrice Marinello, moves to have Don removed from his post as Board Secretary! What a crock...

Chess for success - NOT by StanB
Who the fu*k is Neil Brennan? He sucks in chess but his mouth is big. You're no historian. You're just a weewee brain. Don't waste your vote for the Chess for success team. We don't want you or your vote. Get lost you fat slop.

The Problem with the Natrol Deal by Angelo DePalma
It's always amazed me how individuals let partisanship affect the way they view politics. In USCF politics we don't have "democrat" and "republican," "right" or "left" wing, but the same kinds of partisan principles operate. For example, Bill Goichberg has been assailed many times in this forum for various alleged managerial deficits, and excoriated for potential conflicts of interest....

Are the USCF Ballots Protected from Forgery? by Sam Sloan
Are the USCF Ballots Protected from Forgery? I was looking at my ballot before I sent it in and I concluded that it would be virtually impossible for anyone such as myself who is outside the USCF Governance structure to forge a ballot. The numbers on the ballot including the pin number, the type of paper used, the type and quality of the printer and other factors would make it impossible...
