RESPONSIBILITY by
BrotherNehoc
We have seen a number of posts recently related to a number of ethical
and political issues. All of these posts have skirted or touched upon
the idea and issue of responsibility. There are three major posts that
have continued to appear which touch upon responsibility, and I would
like to address them. The three items a President Marinello and the
continuing complaint that Mr. Goichberg...

Current thoughts on candidates by
Vince Hart
I am far from decided about how I will fill in my ballot but here are
my current thoughts on the candidates (in order of statements in Chess
Life):
Robert Tanner: Unimpressive statement.
Sam Sloan: Laughable.
Bill Goichberg: Tough Decision. My dealings with him have left a good
impression. Stan's comments have me very concerned. Dubeck's

MESSAGE TO USCF MEMBERS by
beatchess@aol.com
Dear All:
Please find enclosed a copy of the letter of intend between Natrol, Inc
and the US Chess Federation., and a statement from Natrol. This was
the only agreement with this company. I take full responsibility for
this endorsement that was obviously a mistake. No members of the
Executive Board had any knowledge of this agreement.
I can find many excuses to justify my mistake, including...

the old rope troll spam post by
DB Rea
Yeah, yeah, I read his stupid post, because the header caught my eye. My
first thought was "if you want to get stoned and play a little chess, why
not buy some actual marijuana? Too tightfisted?"

idle chit-chat by
politikalhack@gmail.com
I spoke for a few minutes yesterday with Joel Channing. He impresses
me as an exceptionally capable man who understands the direction the
USCF needs to go in.
I don't think one has to worry about anyone else having undue influence
over Mr. Channing--he has a mind of his own.
While I did not vote for him, and am not now endorsing him, I do think
he would be a valuable addition to the Board.

Goichberg's Performance as Executive Director, Part 4 by
LWDubeck
In the earlier 3 parts, I demonstrated that Mr. Goichberg as Executive
Director
1. Botched the Books and Equipment outsourcing agreement
2. Resisted needed layoffs of employees
3. Preferred as the new USCF headquarters building a 100+ year old
dilapadated, vacant, former hospital with 30+ bathrooms in Liberty NY
to a brand new builidng in Crossville, Tenn.

Kasparov is no politician by
Ruud
Kasparov starts his political career, like many other wannabe-politicians,
by putting down other politicians instead of concentrating on suggesting
improvements himself. He did this during his chess career at some times as
well.
Now for the second time he is attacked, this time with eggs.
I'm not an insider in all the russian politics, and probably he is right
about a lot of his criticism...

Goichberg's Performance as Executive Director, Part 3 by
LWDubeck
The relocation of the USCF office to Crossville Tennesesee is without
doubt the most debated Executive Board decision in this campaign. Then
Executive Director Bill Goichberg opposed the move to Crossville,
favoring further exploration of a relocation to Liberty, located in
Sullivan County, New York.
The Liberty site was to be in a 100+ year old former hospital that had
been vacant for years....

Goichberg's Performance as Executive Director, Part 1 by
LWDubeck
Mr. Goichberg keeps claiming credit for wonderful achievments as
Executive Director and suggests that his performance is the reason to
vote for him for the Executive Board. Let us examine some of his
claims.
He takes credit for negoiating the agreeemnt to outsource books and
equipment. In his February Chess Life "Report" (published while he was
running for election), Mr. Goichberg says (on...

Poisoned Water at the Whirled Open -- A Masked Bishop Adventure by
Frisco Del Rosario
Slois Slane, intrepid reporter for the Daily Chess Planet, had never seen
anything like it. Almost a dozen chess masters were being held under the
strictest security at the metropolis's detention facility, all of them
strung out, seemingly suffering through withdrawal symptoms.
"Golly, Miss Slane," said cub photographer Jimmy Lolsen, 'what's with
those chess champions?"
"I'm not sure, Jimmy. It...

Posting NNTP: 66.2.156.20 from the 'pretend' Sam Sloan (Sam swears it ain't
him).
Anybody care to know the geographical location of both IPs. Hint: It might
even be the same Borough.

It's a matter of trust by
Tom Klem
Dear Chess friends,
A few people have been asking me why I don't want to see the Klink Cabal
back in office (Golichberg/Schultz).
It's as if you had a beautiful farm. You, your wife and son live there, and
it is truly a beautful place. In the spring, it rains profusely, you plant
your crops, till the soil until the harvest time, when you reap the benefits
of all your hard labors, selling your...

WWLD? by
Matt Nemmers
WHAT WOULD LARRY DO?
If former Chess Life editor and outspoken RGCP spin-doctor Larry Parr
were a current USCF member, for whom would he cast his vote?
Larry playing Johnny Cochrane to Sam Sloan's O.J. of late makes this
writer wonder what he would do were a ballot sent to him in his
tropical Malaysian paradise. He has legalistically defended Sloan by
subscribing to the ideas that the many...
