Female vs. Male in chess = 100% equal? by
Les
Louise,
I very much disagree with you. I think you are very wrong because:
1. You are not at a high enough level in chess to understand what
other women (top-level) went through
2. According to you, you have no children. Therefore, you have no
knowledge of how it can affect your performance. (I have 4 daughters
and 2 of them do have physical problems each month)
3. You have done virtually...

Go is vastly better than chess by

"Thanks for being my ****** Nick."
--Stan Booz (17 March 2004, rec.games.chess.politics)
'******' is regarded as an offensive racial slur
in every English dictionary of which I know.
If "******" is offensive "in every English dictionary"
then how can blacks use the term among themselves? ...

Japan and Iceland should go to war, like Greece and Troy by
The Masked Bishop
Just think...Bobby could be like Helen of Troy, the face that launched a
thousand ships.
How cool a war between Japan and Iceland would be. Both island nations,
neither has a very large military.
I hope they go for it. Iceland should start it with a paratroop drop into
Osaka, and hold some ports.

REYKJAVIK (Reuters) - Iceland's parliament granted former world chess
champion Bobby Fischer citizenship Monday, enabling the fugitive

A short note for HansJ by
David Ames
"We don't have the same moral and legal framework as the rest of the
world," Scalia said in January, "and never have."

The context of this article concerns the reference to foreign legal
standards within U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Scalia is a Justice of

Bobby Fischer legal question by
Eustace
In the report on the John Henderson's article of The Scotsman in
http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=2266
it writes:
"It helped that he was caught in Japan, one of the _few countries_ the
US has a bilateral treaty on tax offenders where there would be an
automatic deportation to face the music" (emphasis mine)
Which are the other few countries?

GK -- The Greatest by
Angelo De Pa1ma
Garry Kasparov's retirement from professional chess marks not just the end
of an era, but the beginning of a new dark age for professional chess and,
most likely, for the game itself.
Kasparov is the only legitimate living link to chess's great history. You
could argue that Anand has had a better two years or that Topalov was the
moral victor at Linares. But neither one, certainly not Topalov,...

The USCF IS Doing Well. Where Is Bruce Draney Now?!? by
Ron Suarez
Well, here we are at the end of 2004 and the USCF has not folded and
certainly looks as if it WILL not fall apart.
In fact, Bill Goichberg, Beatriz, and the others seem to have things
going swimmingly.
So, where is the doom and gloomer, Bruce Drano now? Where are the
othes that expected and predicted the USCF's disintegration?
Oh yes, we have Sam Sloan the Drone going on about false coups and

After posting to Usenet earlier today by
David Ames
Tom,
Before service today, I looked in the minister's office and found in
The Interpreter's Bible that "within" is the usual meaning of the Greek
word in Luke 17:21. That suffices for my purpose. That source also
mentions that in the original spoken Aramaic, the verb "to be" would
have been omitted, so it is possible to question whether present tense
was meant.
The minister also told me that...

A Few Simple Questions For Don Schultz by
Duncan Oxley
Why is it so important NOW that "We must have the full numbers
of what the total move will cost."?
(I submit that this can possibly only be answered honestly after all the
dust settles
in Crossville. An estimate, sure, but "the full numbers"? I may be a
neophyte here
but somehow I doubt that with ANY move of this kind "the full numbers" can
be
stated before everything is finished.)

The Year of the USCF Election Fraud by
samhsloan@yahoo.com
The Year of the USCF Election Fraud
2005 will become known as the Year of the USCF Election Fraud. Every
election contains false statements by the candidates. However, this
year and this election sets some sort of record for outrageously false
and fraudulent statements. A flyer handed out in support of the
so-called "team" of four running as a slate this year contains false
statements about each...
