This past weekend I came across a time-delay wrinkle I'd not seen before. I played in a five-round, G/120 Swiss, with rounds scheduled for 10-2:15-6:30 on Saturday, and 11-3:30 on Sunday. The TD decreed that players using t/d clocks should deduct five minutes at the start of rounds 1, 2, and 4. But....players were instructed 'not' to deduct any time from their clocks at the start of rounds 3...

Well, according to CNN, the Japanese have now issued Fischer's deportation order. Normally they have to deport someone to their home country, but in this case I wouldn't take *anything* as a given until it's actually announced.
