Polgar News: From Chessdiscussion.com by
Rob
Is this really going to happen?
Is this what we discussed at the Nashville planning session? Was this
premature? I thought I was to handle the releases.

That would end the need for a recall.
The problem is that today is April Fools Day. We will have to wait
until tomorrow to find out whether...

Bobby Fischer WAS HELPING Kasparov, Korchnoi, and Topalov!!!! by
Alex
Some people have found Bobby' laptop and started going through his
files.
They found some old e-mails he sent. It turns out he was giving
advice to Korchnoi, Kasparov, and even Topalov. He came up with that
Nxf7 novelty that Topalov played against Kramnik:

Chess Environmentalism by
J.D. Walker
Hello Chess Friends,
Thirsting for new subjects in this newsgroup, I caught the following at
Susan's blog the other day:
http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/2008/03/wwwsofiapolgarcom.html
I did not know that Zsofia was a painter or that she was interested in
international environmental issues. Perhaps we do not hear enough about
the third Polgar sister.

Assuming That It's True by
Brian Lafferty
which it may well not be, I hope that all who remain will constructively
start an open and transparent healing process with putting the USCF's
finances in order as the first priority.
Assuming that an election must be held to fill two vacancies, I would
hope that Harry Payne and Donna Alarie will consider running for the
Executive board. They are both honest, straightforward and openly blunt...

North American Chess Association by
samsloan
There is a rumor bouncing around that Sevan Muradian and his North
American Chess Association will be trying to take away from the USCF
it's FIDE affiliation.
Also, supposedly the North American Chess Association is trying to
become the governing body of chess in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
I can tell you that none of this will ever happen, so do not worry
about it.

Why was Louis Watson Ranked the Number 4 Bridge Player in the World? by
samsloan
I keep reading that in 1934 Louis H. Watson was ranked the number 4
bridge player in the world.
He died tragically in 1936 at age 29.
Why was he ranked number 4 ? Who were numbers 1, 2 and 3 ??
I have searched newspaper reports from 1932-1934 and it seems that
Watson was winning almost everything. The one time that his team
finished only second, it was attributed to a series of highly

Beginner atleast 1850+ Rated acording to FICS games. by
Sanny
As few people said FICS gives correct Rating.
I played 3 Games at FICS against Beginner Level, To my amazement
Beginner won all the three games.
It beat three players of Rating 1832 and 1700 and 1500. And Now FICS
rates GetClub Beginner level as 1800+
So all those who used to say Beginner plays less than 1800 Look at
this game. See how Beginner Sacrificed its Knight and Won the game.

Help Bots new idea tickeled. by
Sanny
Help bot suggested about the blockade strategy it helped GetClub play
much stronger games now.
I played two games with Beginner vs Rybka and found even Rybka is not
able to get ahead and finish GetClub like it used to earlier. It is
taking longer for Rybka to win against the Beginner Level. As Beginner
is not allowing Rybka to take its pieces easily.
The Games are ending with +10 Moves.

Polgar On USCF Finances by
Brian Lafferty
From chessdiscussion, the Trolgar owned and controlled "discussion"
forum apparently answering her own question:
"by SusanPolgar on Sun Mar 30, 2008 5:32 am
I was asked the following question today on my blog:
"How bad are the finances at USCF ? How likely is it that USCF declares
bankruptcy ? What steps are being taken to avoid financial collapse?"
Here is my answer:

Interpretation by

INTERPRETATION
The sage whose words are ambiguous you call great.
Those who advocate discipline you shun.
With one, you treat words the way you want.
With the other, you resent having no quarter.

Truth Not Fit for Polgar's Blog Options by
SKEYESTONE@aol.com
But precisely because Mr. M is my friend, and because I know his
character, I am inclined to give him every benefit of the doubt.
BTW Bill Brock sent over 400 E Mails in a fit of rage.

Trusting the Executive Director by
samsloan
If you have an Executive Director who is utterly worthless, or who
does not tell the board what he is doing or who often lies about what
he has done, then you have a situation where the ED cannot be trusted
with such critical decisions as the hiring or firing of the Editor of
Chess Life.
The USCF has lost more than two million dollars since 1999 and is
losing $300,000 more so far this year. None...

Ending the USCF's FIDE Affiliation? by
Brian Lafferty
The idea was floated this morning on the Truong/Polgar controlled
chessdiscussion site:
"by Zarathustra on Fri Mar 28, 2008 11:35 am
The United States Chess Federation has lost its support with the adult
membership, with the members leaving or left and, the rest just
questioning why they are a member in the first place. Even with the
flood of scholastic members, that we give moral support...
