The Odd Marriages of Convenience by ASCACHESS
Don Schultz is an ally of Bill Goichberg. Goichberg is a long standing ally of Frank Camaratta. Camaratta is a buddy of Al Lawrence. However, Camaratta does not equal Schultz and Lawrence does not equal Schutlz, there are real splits therein. Whither Hanon Russell in all this? Did I miss any odd couples?

legal sense and nonsense by Phil Innes
I am more than a little concerned with recent posts which skate very close to an edge in respect of copyright infringement and personal defamation. I do request that posters will not attempt to misrepresent other's opinions or make knowingly false statements concerning others. This morning I discovered the following statement:- "Neil Brennen" wrote in...

Is it the Boozer or Immit Who Has a drinking Problem? by Jerome Bibuld
Subject: North American Open...MSA...YO NOLAN From: (Jerome Bibuld) Date: 2004-02-06 10:36 AM Eastern Standard Time Message-id: Heil Dubya! I think the Boozer (who signs "StanB") may have had (more than) one too many. I NEVER HAVE SEEN STEVE IMMIT TAKE A SINGLE DRINK, NOR HAVE I EVER SEEN HIM IN THE LEAST INEBRIATED...

Janet Jackson by Danny Purvis
I have decided that Janet Jackson's shocking Super Boob show was actually a courageous work of art. The "point" was that women are still treated as either virgins or whores, and it's an ugly, ugly situation. Date rape is not okay. No means no, whether uttered before, during or after. That Janet would carry this truth into the bastion of male supremecy is as delightful as the howls...

The Inverse Moral Compass, Samuel Sloan by Bruce Draney
It makes me feel good when Sam is on the opposite of an issue than I am, because it makes me relatively certain that my opinions and views are probably siding towards the ethical and right thing to do. When Sam says my views are crazy, it is a pretty good indicator that his views which are the opposite of whatever my views are, are the crazy ones, and mine are probably pointed in the general...

An Open Apology to Don Schultz. by Bruce Draney
A couple months ago, I took Don Schultz to task rather nastily for posting the private medical condition of the USCF President while she was seeking treatment in her home country for a serious condition. At the time, having known the USCF President for a number of years I found it very hard to believe that Don was doing this with her permission. However, she recently directly responded to my...

PPHBF: Beatriz a candidate? by RSHaas
Seems like Beatriz Marinello could be a good candidate to tap into the Professional Players Health and Benefit Fund or whatever it is called. Is there any money left in it, or was it raided, too? RSHaas

I WANT TO MEET SAM SLOAN by Ivan
Do you know where I can meet him in person? One time I went to the Marshall Chess Club this past summer and I was watching some guy who wore glasses helping analyze some kid with his chess game. I offered some suggestions and the man with glasses agreed with my suggested variations. Later on I asked the man if he would play blitz with me but he declined. After the next round started, I asked...

My Experience with Native Americans by Mike Murray

being cheap by Joechess145
Can anybody tell me what company is the least expensive source for the new USCF rule book or Game Time II clocks? Walmart.com and buy.com seem to be pretty cheap at $12-13 for rule books but I plan to buy more than a few copies. The clocks I can get for $28-$30. This probably isn't political, except in the possible sense that I doubt that anybody will recommend the USCF. Joe
